I have a modified (aka "hacked") xbox for sale with a 200GB hard drive. For those of you familiar with what this is and can do, I don't have to tell you much. (Others see http://www.xbox-scene.com)

Basically, this is like the blown 383 of gaming consoles... all of us here like to play and toy around to see how cool we can make something. This is the same type of thing in that just like fast cars that can illegally street race this thing can easily break the laws, so be careful and use it responsibly :)

What it does
For those that might not know you can do things like:

Run Xbox Media Center to play movies and MP3s on it or on another computer on your network, internet radio, etc. Similar to a MediaCenter PC.

"Backup" Xbox games from the original disc to the internal 200gb hard drive right on the xbox (without a PC). Games then load directly from the hard drive via a menu and you can keep your originals safe. (I'm told the games load a LOT faster too!)

Plays "backups" (copied) xbox games or games from another country/region.

You can install and run Linux too! Think web server, ftp server, whatever...

* All of this functionality can be turned off with the flip of a switch too so the xbox will function just like it did new out of the box.

Legality
As far as legality, the hardware modifications are perfectly legal. Depending on which programs you might choose to run on it, they can be legal in some instances and not in others. Obviously the ability to copy games to the internal drive could only have a chance of being legal if you own the originals. I'm not a lawyer and I don't know what's on the hard drive, but it's 95% full right now (items are easily deleted). It was built by a guy that loved new games and just needed x-mas money.

I'm asking $325 obo shipped & insured. If you add up the parts alone it's worth more than that. Add up 200gb worth of goodies that come on the hard drive that will likely make it worth a whole lot more to you! This thing is ready to plug in and go - a serious machine!
