Well, all your questions are answered in the title of the post. It is new and vented, but it is sold. I do have another one with out the original box, but I think you are looking for a non vented type for your car.

 

i'd buy this. but i dont understand why it is sold as is? if it is new. there shouldnt be any question whether or not it works or not?

 

Because that is the way I bought it, and that is the way I sell electrical type of parts.

I have no influence over the fact that there might be something else wrong with someones opti, or electrical system, thus trying to return the cap an rotor.

I have never had a problem with these caps, but this is the way I choose to sell them to prevent any misunderstanding.
