FS: 1997 Z28 M6 lightly modded, not running, dirt cheap
Here's the deal: My motor is dead and I'm not in a position to replace it myself and get it running, otherwise I would. I am also strapped for cash, so I'm willing to take whatever's offered.
It's a 97 M6, around 80k miles, black with slate grey interior, aftermarket shifter ****(the ball just didn't sit well with me for some reason), has the 30th ann. leather seats, and the only interior flaw is that the passenger side sun visor came off before I bought it and I never got around to putting it back on, although it would probably take about 5 minutes.
Exterior wise, the nose is chipping a bit, while the passenger side running board below the door has some paint scraped off from a rock in the road, but the body is undamaged. I would take it for a repaint soon if I were to hang on to it.
It has 99 C5 rims, the front has 255/17's, the back unfortunately is stuck with 245/18s as one of my 275/18's was slashed. I have the remaining one($375 dollar, 80% tread) that comes with the car.
The mods are very minimal: cold air, flowmaster cat-back, hypertech thermostat, taillight blackouts, and manual fan switch. I replaced the water pump around 75k.
The heat guage was apparently stuck at operating temperatures, and it was actually overheating while reading that it was fine, so the thing overheated and warped/cracked one or both of the heads. It is now hydro-locked and won't turn over.
I will be perfectly honest: this car has a salvage title on it. I purchased it from a mechanic who worked at a shop that it was brought to. The owner wanted it written off as totalled even though its damage from rear-ending someone was very minimal, because he didn't want a car that had been in an accident. The mechanic agreed, fixed it, and sold it to me. I took it to my mechanic beforehand, and his story checked out. The car is fine, but the title is there.
I will take what I can get for this thing, but it would take a rebuilt/replaced motor and little work otherwise to get this thing to be an awesome car, washed it looks great even now. It would also make an ideal parts car.
Please local and serious offers only. Email me at wbanario@hotmail.com anytime, but for quick responses during the week 8am-4:30pm use JHoulahan@essexcredit.com and we can go from there. I am in Orinda, CA.
