Complete T56 setup from a '96 Firebird
Complete T56 setup from a '96 Firebird
I have a complete T56 setup from a '96 F-body. Bellhousing, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, release arm and stock shifter. Also have a brand new GM f-body master/slave cylinder w/ hose, and a brand new throwout bearing arm, bearing and pivot bolt with it. Ready to drop right in. $1400 takes it all. I'm in Norfolk, VA. Send me a PM or email me off forum. Shipping would be additional, and by commercial freight on a pallet, to a commercial address ( typically ). I can get a quote, just shoot me a zip code.

Hmmm... I have an ebay account, just never sold anything there. I will wait till later today and see what it takes to post it up there. Just wanted to give an opportunity to everyone here on Z28 forum.
Well, I really want to sell this all together. I think thats the best way for me. I don't need it, and its pretty much all complete, ready to go in another f-body. I had it for my Impala SS, but have re-engineered it to use an after market bellhousing, and a hydraulic throwout bearing. Oh... and I bought a new Tremec. Ouch.
Just wanted to let everyone know this complete setup is sold.
I appreciate all the emails and PMs guys! Really do.
Just so you will know, I decided to spend a little more money on my Impala SS T56 conversion and thats why I was selling this entire setup. The path I'm on now will add about $1200 to my conversion, but too many people doing the Impala conversion using stock f-body compenents are having problems. With a 4200 lb car, and this 200 lb driver, it doesn't take much to imagine when the weakest link is going to give out.
I am purchasing a Stage IV T56 from Transmission Specialists in Indiana. http://www.transspec.com . Rodney there is building a NICE T56 setup, with all the correct parts already in it. Like steel 3-4 fork, steel insert in the 1-2 fork, stainless steel shift tabs, CF lined blocking rings, and a decent guy to deal with.
Basically $1950 for a rebuilt T56, no core charge.
Here's one of his ads fromEBAY
I also am changing over to an aftermarket T56 bellhousing, hydraulic push style throwout bearing, standard Hays small block flywheel and Hays small block 11 inch PP and disc.
Weir Racing
Hopefully this will give me a lot stronger drivetrain, not as much movement at the input shaft, smoother clutch action, and better reliablity.
My personal opinion is the standard f-body bellhousing from GM is too weak to stand up to much torque, and flexes. That causes the tranny to misalign, and takes out the clutch disc eventually.
The Weir piece is a SUPER strong housing. As good as a Lakewood, don't we all wish Lakewood MADE a housing for us!! Weir's pieces really opened up a lot of options for me.
