GM Fbody calls for 275 40 17 tire the overall diameter in Inches 25.66
Where as these 285 40 17 the diameter is 25.97
which is barely a difference of 0.157 inches which is less than an 1/8 inch,
at 65 mph on the dash you will be going 65.5mph so no big deal there either.

I have run these tires on my Ram Air Trans Am and are absolutely AWESOME,
made my car handle like it was on rails and were sticky like glue.
AND add a half-inch of tread width on each tire
(275's are 10.82 inches wide and the 285 is 11.22 inches wide)
and its nice having the extra rim lip protection too
