i am assuming this is for an lt1 and not an l98? i could be wrong but wont an lt1 cam work on an l98? some sort of dowel pin that needs to be shortened? if so- how much and can a regular machine shop of some sort do it for me?

 

Just to answer your question, LT-1 cams can be used in L-98's, the 92-94 LT-1 cams will not require any dowel pin modifications, but the 95-97 units utilize a longer dowel pin, which drives the OPTI-SPARK for those years, usuallt you can simply tap the dowel pin in far enough to clear the GEN-1 SBC timing cover. Most LT-1 CAMS, especially OEM stock units, DO NOT come with a MECHANICAL PUMP LOBE. Just an FYI, but most of the aftermarket units like the CC306 and so on, do come with the pump lobe. HTH's
