Bose Sub -converted to Rockford Fosgate

I have my stock Bose subwoofer that I removed the stock sub and amp and installed a Rockford Fosgate 6 3/4"sub. It come complete with sub installed and wires ready to hookup. Its 10times better sounding than the stock sub and it hides in the driverside fenderwell. $55 shipped
*the sub itself cost $89 and is 4 months old*

Will that run off an amp like a regular sub would? or do you need the bose deck still? Also, would that keep the space open where you would normally mount a 10" sub?
