Behind auto's 10 bolts aren't weak. I'm shooting for 10.80's this fall on the 10 bolt and stock shortblock and a small 75 shot.

Cool!! Looking at your setup with the converter being pretty tight you should see a pretty good MPH, if you ever pull it out I would bring it to around a 3200-3400 stall, you will loose a little MPH but gain on ET.

I actually just put in a yank 3600. I'm having problems with the car and it shows on the dyno along with the track so no good new times, but I did get in 3 passes with the new converter and it was 60ft'ing pretty good considering I hadn't dropped the PSI on the et streets yet. I'm hoping to run 11's on dr's on stock wheels here soon.

yeah 10 bolts are stronger on an auto becuause theres no constant banging of the gears..btw...awsome times man..im tryin to sell my newly redone 10 bolt but everyone has to talk bad about it..o well..i NEED a 12 bolt for my 6 speed/engine combo going in. Awsome times though..good job

I've seen this car go and it's impressive to say the least. I've heard so many rumors about this car that it isn't funny. Well, I guess the fogger wasn't a rumor, I would've figured him spraying it more to get that ET out of it though.

Well matched combo. I think I'm going to have to re-think my idea on my cam though, I think I'm going to be overcammed with the one I have laying around if I ever stick it in there

quick thought:

whats the diff in power between:

a all forged bottom end and aftermarket block, all high buck parts

and

a stock shortblock


assuming the same CR, displacement, ect....

answer: nothing.


so why do some people pour money into it, and others dont?
insurance.
any cast piston, hand balanced SBC can take a properly tuned top end and go with it.
how long it holds together, or when it goes changes from motor to motor.

theres a local mustang guy whos the hot sh!taround here. really its a stock ford motorsports crate shortblock, some GT40 heads, and alot of boost.


you dont need a shortblock to build power.
you need a shortblock for insurance that it will last with that power for the life of the motor.... (well really, the life of the motor is until somthing breaks if ya think about it... )




all that said, yea i usually do the junkyard route.
and really, this thread is pointless.... you sprayed a big shot on a LT1 bottom end.. big whoop.

ive sprayed alot more (comparitively speaking) on alot weaker motors, and they lived to tell about it. just takes a lil luck.
