700r4 trans with converter

I have a fresh built 700r4 with a TCI reverse manual valve body and a 3600 midwest torque converter. this trans was used for one season and worked beautiful. I just switched to a th400. It was rebuilt after I removed it so everything inside is fresh. $750.

Re: 700r4 trans with converter

hey camz, i think i met you at the track last year. i had the black 93. it will go in your car with no mods at all. if your car is a 6 speed now you will probably need a crossmember from an auto (i think they are different) but thats it. the trans was in my car for 2 years and lasted through many many 10 second passes. also since it will be rebuilt before i sell it, i could build it to the buyers wishes.

Re: 700r4 trans with converter

Yea I remember you man your car is damn fast for so little done... shows what good suspension can do... As for the tranny, I am thinking about wanting one, but want it to be able to hold atleast 600rwhp... do you think you could build it to those specs? Also what all was done when you rebuilt it? And does it come with the shifter and all...

Re: 700r4 trans with converter

sorry i do not want to ship it. as far as what was already done. it was built with all coleen steels and blue clutches. still has stock sunshell (would need to be upgraded to handle a lot of power). the sunshell and sprag are what usually breaks. im sure it wouldnt take much more to handle 600 rwhp. my car on nitrous made a little under 500 to the wheels and the trans worked great for the 2 years it was in the car. i never drove it without beating on it. i will talk to my dad and find out exactly what it will take to make it as strong as possible.

also i was still using my stock shifter but if you want it you can have it. it worked fine it just didnt look as cool. i just had to buy a shifter to work with my th400 so i can include the stock shifter with the trans.

Re: 700r4 trans with converter

would you sell the converter seperate? If so, how much shipped, and it's a lock-up that will work in a 95 4L60E right?

Whoever gets this trans is getting a killer deal. If I didn't have a th350 already I would pick it up from ya phil.

Re: 700r4 trans with converter

i will not separate the trans and converter. the converter is a midwest 3600 and does not have lock-up. converter was built for nitrous and is very tight and very streetable. also i do not want to ship due to weight. thanx jay but this trans is for fast cars only. just kidding but you still got a heads up race.
