Not sure what gears are in the 2000 Z28 that I've got but from what I understand, most came with 2.73s??? Where can I find out on the car what gear I have? I'm interested in gettin these 3.42s Was thinkin 3.73s but for the price it's unbeatable

If your an Auto your most likely 2.73 gears, some auto's came with 3.23 gears factory option but the only way to really find out is to call a dealer and give them your vin. I dont know if there is a number in your vin that says what youve got but the dealer will know for sure.

Take a look at your shifter. If you have the option to shift into 1st gear you got the 3.23, if not you have the others.

Not true for 98+ Z28s. All 98+ 2.73 Z28 A4s can select 1st gear. Assuming yours is stock, you should be able to tell what you have by the RPO codes. Look either in the door jamb or in the glove box. Also, unless your A4 was optioned with the 3.23, higher OEM gearsets will not work in your car. You will need to find aftermarket series 2 gears.

GU2 = 2.73
GU5 = 3.23
