Went to the bone cracker....

today and my back is really f*cked up. Im looking at about 6 months to get straighted out. I really dont know what I did to it but a couple vertabraes(sp?) are in rough shape. I saw my Xrays. This is now effecting some nerves as well, which is not good. My back has been bothering me for quite a while but I blocked out the uncomfort and carried on.....like I have always done. This was a bad thing to do.

So I just wanna say to you all is to look after your back. If its bothering you get in and check it out. You really dont want to be feeling like the way I do right now.

I will get better.

A good buddy of mine has missed the last 2 weeks with his back. He's been to the chiro......tons and is in alot of pain. Day to day. Take good care because imagine how you'll feel at 50.

From personal experience, I will tell you that if ur back was screwed and it hurt now, the pain you will go through for rehab will almost always be worse. However, stick with it because after it's all done, you will feel 100 times better. Good luck. I've been there before and it is definetly worth it!

I've always wondered if I could possibly feel "better" by going to a chiro..........
I mean, I feel ok now - but mabye I'm just used to feeling a certain way.
Now and then my back complains but I've never had serious problems.

There's a few people I know that go all the time - and they don't have any problems.
Possibly that's why........

Mabye they would feel the same, and hence are just throwing their money away really.

That's what it comes down to really - if it was covered by medical, I would be all over it.

I know that it's partially covered and all, but it can still get rather expensive - and with everything costing more and more these days, I don't think I could justify going over having to take care of my family.

I just need more money really.

How much do Kidneys go for these days?

How long can a person live without a liver?

A chiro..... will give you excellent exersises to do to keep your back strong and doin them will keep your back in good shape. I'd see 'em if it was bad. Maybe only need one visit, get the exersises, then never have to go back.....hmmmmm A dude at work says every once 'n awhile his back acts up and he does the exercises and it feels great.

And the doctor can give you DRUGS

That is what Im now going thru.......major uncomfort. The only way to describe it is to imagine being strapped to a chair for hours not being able to move. I want to explode sometimes. The Doc warned me about the recovery...just what I wanted to hear. What can I say other than Im THRILLED to be going thru this.

You WILL KNOW when you back is really screwed. I knew that my back was in pretty rough shape. I just lived with it because I couldnt justify missing work because of it. It didnt seem to be bothering me that bad at all. Whats a little pain right? I have always had pain of some sort, big friggen deal. To each their own I guess.

If I didnt have spasms I still wouldnt have gone to the chiro. Its a good thing I did however as I probably would have had some permenent nerve damage. I failed a couple strength tests in my legs at my initial examination. I keep thinking to myself, what if it got worse.?

Just imagine not being able to drive. I might as well be dead.

Im not trying to freak anyone out here. Im just sharing my story.

Thx for the words of encouragement guys.

Sorry to hear about your back pain, how did it happen? Stick to your rehab, if the doc says it will get better it will. I was rear-ended before and went through the same thing. Is it a WCB or ICBC claim? If it is, tell them you want CARP. They give you a personal trainer. They gave it to me at Fitness 2000. Backs all better now, wish you the best.

The only major thing I can think of (4/5months ago) is when I fell off the top of my trailers, about 6 foot drop from my feet to the trailer deck. I stepped into open air and dropped like a rock. Dislocated my right shoulder in that fall too. I managed to finish untarping and got unloaded a few hours later. Went into first aid after unloading to start a paper trail, just in case. I dont remember mentioning anything about my back though.

That was a long fu*king day. :blah:
