so yeah, today, going to uni, a bit early, but turning left from granville onto SW marine (W70th), but it was all bunged up, so i took 71st, normally ok, but there was a cop there, waved me over, i thought i'd done nothing wrong, just worried about my lack of front license plate, but you cant turn left there between 7-9:30, oh well, my bad, i'll take the ticket, (i usually go in later, so i dont notice that sign, doh!!)... bummer, oh well $98 down, lesson learned, nothing said about lack of front plate or my blackouts

driving home from uni, going down the main drag in tsawwassen (ppl cannot drive here), anyway, cow infront of me driving oh so slow, so i pop into 2nd gear and drive around, ooops, cop on side street, so stop accelerating, going 60, not too bad, drive normal, cop catches up, no biggie, comes down my road, he's behind me, and 0.5 miles from my house, his lights flash, oh crap, i bet its the front plate... 50 seconds later he comes out, says "you passed me on 56th and " i thought he'd say either speed or plate, "and it looked like you were wearing your seat belt (i'm 6' 6", so i sit far back, cant see to of seat belt thing on chair), he apologizes and tells me to have a nice day... that one was lucky, but now i've been unfortunately scared into putting my front plate back on, i know, i know, it looks sooooo much better without, but 2 times in one day, thats as many as i've had my whole life before (i'm only 20, mind you i drive an f-body...)

to sum up, i'm down $98 and my cars gonna look gay again with the front plate

ya ive got alot of notice 'n' orders for having no front plate but i dont think i ever got a ticket. i just made up some excuse everytime. i actually did buy the car with tinted windows and no front plate bracket so i just blamed it on the company i bought it from and the cops were pretty good about it.

Over here in the states, since 4th of July is coming up, cops are everywhere... Going out to lunch we saw 5 cops..

In Oregon, "checkpoints" are outlawed though..

My g/f had a good excuse that you could use for not having a front plate...

"Oh sorry officer, I just took the car bra off and forgot to put it back on..."

yeah not very funny cause when i bought the car off him i had to get the tint taken off and then cause he had so many notice and orders because of it i had to get the car inspected, and when i did i had low back pads so they made me get them replaced there so all in all it cost me over 400 bucks just so i could get the car insured after i bought it. i was so pissed. they never said anything about having no front plate when i got the inspection done though. but i had to later anyways.

I'll let you guys in on a great secret.I never ran a front plate on my 4th gens, but I always kept the plate & bracket in the hatch.Whenever i got pulled over[which was all the time for this matter]I said the car was in a photo shoot & the plate was removed,no big deal officer "hear it is"kind of thing.I never got a ticket-it helps if the weather is good & the car is clean.try it,it may save you a couple bucks,if not your no worse off.
