Tire pressure and rotating

My 275/40/ZR rear tire pressure runs low after a few weeks on one tire, what's up? I also went in for my 15K tire rotation that is recommended in my car manual, I was told at a shop that they don't need rotation cause the fronts have a touch more tread than the rears, I guess some of my launches have worn down the rear tires more so no rotation needed. They said it's better to have more tread on the front for turning corners. I felt the tread lines of the front and rear tires have lots of tread left on both. they felt quite even on wear to me.

If you are losing pressure in one tire, maybe your valve has gone bad on that tire. As for rotating... I never do it because I always cook off the rears so much faster than the fronts. I would rather replace two tires at a time than 4. Although, it is usually cheaper (per tire) if you replace 4 tires than 2.

Sounds like you might have a small leak - either stem or seal around wheel rim. May be tough to trace, but if they submerge it, they MAY find it. Not always though.

I still like to rotate my tires (though I don't now that I run DRs on the back) just to keep the wear even. Even though it's good to have more tread up front for handling, I don't find the car handles too well when the backs are worn down a lot more than the front.

You don't have to do a rotation, but if you start to find a slight vibration at higfher speeds through your steering wheel, likely its becuz your tires are wearing unevenly and need rotating.

Of course, remember the tires are directional.

Maybe ease up on allowing fat chicks in your car. I can imagine the tire bulging now.
