Exclamation Sunday BCTFB meet

Well, the weather report looks pretty crppy for a bbq, so me and mike were talking over my aggressive shifting, that we should all go to the classic and custom show at the tradex on Sunday an then maybe go for lunch/dinner after. $8.00 I think to get in, some really nice rides, and a decent freeway cruise(no lights) to the tradex. we can meet at timmy's @ PK in the morning and head out there together. The show goes from 10am to 5pm. We can meet at 10 and head downthere for 11. What do you guys think? Supposed to be some really nice classics as well as some nice customs (newer caars) etc. maybe we can book a restaurant where we can get a discount.

It seems though no one is interested in out meetings...it's almost a waste of time for us to even hold a meeting...a BBQ is a great idea but better for the mid summer....and since the North Shore is to far to go for some, that's a waste...so the only thing I can't hink of right now is Mr. Hamburger in Langley...that way who ever wants to go to the Rod show, it's a hop skip and jump away

...what do ya think

Ok, I'll try to make myself clearer. Let's go to the car show, and after that we wil get together at a restaurant and have our meeting. This way, we get a cruise (to Abby and back) an event (car show), and our meeting all in one day.

Mike, the way I look at it, there is alwys growing pains for whatever you try to do. ie this club. As long as we don't give up on it, we will be able to attract more people. Of course some will come out to all the meetings and some will come to only a few. However for as long as we keep this going, the more people we can attract. Out of those, there will be a % that will be 100% commited. That is the only way we can reach a decent membership. We ain't sinkin yet!!!

oh yeah, and I hope noone complains about how far away Abby is. Considering it is all freeway, and considering how we are willing to drive to mission, on Fridays, etc. Abby is 25 min. from Surrey.

I know what your saying Sandeep, but we need to have some kind of incentive for the guys to come out on the Sunday of the month...last month we talked about membership cards etc....but nothing has been done now for a month. Summer is comming up and we need to have these incentives in place...people are going to start asking, "what's happening with the club money?"....so this is what we'll do...meet at the Avalon as we have done in the past..no if and or but's....12 noon..on the button...then maybe Johnny can have a duty list so thing can get done in the month of May...so when we meet in May we'll have everything in place....agreed?

I agree, however, seeing as Johnny can't make it till later, and we can still discuss things over dinner, instead of lunch, so why don't we go see the show. After all, we are a Car club right? This way even with bad weather we got some thing to do.

Angry

Mike and Sandeep: I have the utmost respect for you two but I think it is ridiculous that in one post you talk about incentive and commitment, yet at our first meeting we committed to a monthly Sunday lunch. I have no problems making changes to plans, but how the h3ll can we make "changes" when a post is made less than 2 days before our scheduled meeting? If this doesn't contradict "incentive" and "commitment" then what does?

Johnny - is it true that you can't make it tomorrow at noon? If so, shouldn't we be notified?

Sorry to be such a ***** about things, but how can we fault our members if us executives can't even communicate and get organized? Of course people are going to lose interest when the club that they belong to has an administration that can't even attend/organize 3 meetings in a row.

I won't be home till very late tonite, and I will check this post to confirm our meeting at the Avalon at 12. I had daytime plans yet I cancelled them to accomodate our meeting, so I'm hoping that Johnny and/or Payam will step up and get this $hit organized.

Rant over.

I did post that I will not be able to make it on time. I sent an e-mail out to the "Executive Council" as well which included some topics for discussion. I'm sorry I can't make it, but the meeting should definately still happen. Also we should have had details posted sooner, we were watching the weather to see if we could go forward with the BBQ.
