The 5psi graph looks like crap, I would bet when he gets on it she feels like crap aswell. Prolly fuel related or something. I wouldn't post a graph like that though, I've seen 10X nicer graphs with these kits, the truck graph is good but falls off too quick due to piping diameter.

lol, 450 lb/ft of TQ will NOT feel like crap. That is impressive for 5lbs of boost.

A D1 blower on a stock motor would need to make around 8 PSI to hit 450 lb/ft of TQ, and this would happen at around 5000 rpm.

Yeah it would, with a graph like that it wouldn't feel right, if I feel something on the street I go to the dyno its ussually seen as a much smaller blimp then that on the dyno & I feel it on the street, yeah it feels like crap, maybe it'll go but I'm big on smooth powerband that feels nice.

Which reminds me, with my new cam it doesn't feel as smooth as before

I heard that can have alot to do with the "smoothing setings" in the graphing setup on a dyno , I have no idea if this is true or not but Ive heard this before with similar looking "bumpy" graphs.

I like the look of these kits alot . . . . anybody want to buy a set of kooks headers lol

I do....no wait....got those already. You get your car on the road yet?!?

There is just something with a turbo on a V8 I dont like. Those #s are good though, nothing wrong with that.

With 5 lbs. it dynoed 445 horse and 460 torque. With 10 lbs. it did 560 horse and 527 torque.

whats not to like

Its really not that impressive considering he has full bolt ons, lower compression and a cam. That means he only gained about 80hp from 5 psi.

so assuming your 80rwhp gains he had a baseline of 365rwhp.

at 5 psi on any turbo setup and its just overcoming the restiriction.

so assuming his baseline was 365 and his 80 horse gave him 445, at ten psi he got 560 horse, gains of 195rwhp, divide by 10 psi which gives you 19.5 rwhp per pound of boost, which is the norm.

so taking into consideration of cost, ease of installation, and the fact that its out back, id say its impressive.

But for someone only running 5 or 6 psi and gaining 80 hp from it is not worth $3,500 imo. Not when you compare it to other kits where people are running 6-7 psi with FMIC and have went from 260 rwhp stock on a LT1 to low to mid 400rwhp with the turbo setup.

Im looking forward to ditching the bottle for this kit . . . . I wonder how much headers will hinder performance

Well, I look at it this way.

First I have to rule out all other turbo kits becuz they are not emissions legal. This one is.

If I go ATI D1 (or Vortech), run 7 psi, I will be paying $5K US, and with a cam I will probably see mid 400's (460 or so). From what I see, its about the same numbers (maybe not the same curve) at less money.

So, there is reason to consider it.
