I deal with Wolfe a lot! Jim Kennedy has never done me wrong there. I've bought 5 or 6 vehicles from him (work and personal - including my SS) and he has beat everyones price everytime (without having to haggle - his bottom line is always best). Never pestered me with stupid questions, etc... but it all depends on who you deal with as a salesperson. He is good.

I don't care for Duecks. Nor Don Carr or Flag. Prestons is pretty damn good (2nd best, IMO). Barnes Wheaton I used to buy from, but when they changed names, things went downhill, IMO.

I think they are all shady, I can tell stories about some that I worked at but lets not , ok lets:

Carter GM: Brand new Z06 they just sold to a customer fell off a hoist when doing an inspection, the whole passenger side was cracked, they braught it to the body shop & told the customer its getting a full detail done & showed him another one off the lot which they braught into the detail shop aswell, while the other one was hiding in the back getting repaired(thing looked like a write off), they said it'll take a week, later on I drove the car up to the customer & he said "Did you take good care of her for me?" I'm like "yeah sure whatever".

Dodge Chrysler dealer: Constant ripping off on service, a guy I had to pick up cuz he stalled on road, well anyways I picked him up & told him to pop his hood, the car wasn't starting, I checked fuel pressure & it was there, checked spark that wasn't there, so I told him it was probably his ignition coil. I drove him to the dealership & his car got towed right after, the guy was told by the dealer ship it could be his fuel pump. Later on in the day the mechanics had the Cherokee at the shop, the mechanics find the coil is toast, the big guy(2nd in command) comes in & says "is it the fuel pump" they are like (showing him the coil) say, look he's like NICE! We just made a thousand bucks boys, they changed the coil, I went to pick up the customer from his house back to the dealership & I descided to ask him if they acctually scammed him, YEP THEY DID, the guy said it cost him $1100 bucks for a new fuel pump & that it wasn't the coil like I suggested, I wanted to say somthing for 2 reasons:

1. I look stupid for suggesting the coil
2. I felt bad for the customer

end result: I kept my mouth shut

There is a few more on service with dodge chrysler, not scam related but close enough where the mechanics couldn't find problems & I'd tell the customer what I thought it was & 1 customer acctually listened to me & said to change what I said to change & the car drove like new.

So, do all the work yourself.

i had alot of work done at Dennison in the Richmond auto mall. Had almost everything installed there. Never delt with sales team but service was all cool. my good buddy is assistant service manager so i get a deal. Anytime I need a top up of fluids or anything I call and he says right away. I got a call back 2 days after it was in about doing a cusomer service survey. Gave them good marks.

Just curious about this quote cause the same guy owns it since it was Weaton Pacific GMC and the GM is still Wilson Munro and has been for years. Id have to say that every dealer has both good and bad salesmen. It all depeends on who you get stuck with

IDK about Dueck...i'd buy another vehicle from there next time as long as theyu don't screw me again. The guy told me the brakes had just been done, and then a couple months later i took them in to my dad's brake guy (family friend)
He told us 0% in the front, 20% on the back left
Then it started to fall apart (the VW) and today i went toback it out of my parking spot, and it clunked into reverse like it always does. I figured "whatever" and h alfway through it slipped out and was just revving going no where. I put it into neutral and put it back in reverse and the whole car shook and made the nastiest grinding sound you've ever heard.
She's on her way out at only 102,000 kms

ok... heres what ive found... WOLFE SCREWED ME, when i buoght the car they did an inspection found nothing, next day after buying i noticed oil in driveway, took to dealership in richmond, waterpump out, showing corrosion showing it had been out for awhile, all fluids were dirty as hell, they showed me in front of me, and something else was wrong cant remember,

DUECK SCREWED ME, my family is pretty good friends with the owner of Dueck GM, my parents deal with him in our business as well. I buoght a car there, looked at one had it picked out, my rents went to get it as a surprise for me one day, they brought it home, looked identical to the one i had seen but not a Z28, charged same price and all paperwork said it was a z28, even badging, popped the hood, looked at brakes... ummm hell no

Landsdown GM, AMAZING ... every time ive gone their gotten amazing customer service, they've saved me hundreds, good staff, nice place too, and amazing follow ups, the guy i was dealing with called me numerous times to check to make sure everything was fine. I went in with a tranny problem or so i thuoght, the guy wasnt sure, he asked for the manager who came right away and did a free computer scan for my car, found out blocked fuel filter... Im taking my car to this dealership if ICBC says it can be fixed

Although it may be a tad of a long drive for you city folks - GARDNER GM in Hope always seem to give fantastic deals and stands by their product with over and above customer service.
Their sales staff works by the hour with no commision, it doesn't matter who you talk to - everyone will help you.

Sorry. I meant when it used to be Ed Klassen in Surrey, then Barnes Wheaton bought them out, and it went down from there. Talking with their mechanics, things went sour with the way management was being conducted - they wanted to get rid of all the experienced mechanics and replace them with guys they could pay $10/hour (or something like that) instead of $20. Just cheap buggers. A lot of their staff quit in the first months and went to Gold Key Pontiac, and the sales guys I used to deal with there (bought 3 vehicles in 99 from them) turned slimy.

But any dealings with a dealer are subjective. I may be treated well whereas another person isn't - or vice versa.

Bought my 97 from Pattison GM in BUrnaby...the price was high but the management is VERY flexible...I lowballed them and was surprisingly successgful .

I know some staff at Dueck on Marine...nice dealership but pushy salesman.
