Personally, I prefer not to see any tint on a window from the standpoint of the police officer. Too many officers have told me how cautious they have to be when approaching a car with dark tint (even just the back window). They don't like the uncertainty it adds and it naturally forces them to be slightly more aggressive in their approach to a driver. And I can understand that and I really don't want to make their job any harder. That's why I don't wish to tint mine.

On the other hand, it's EXTREMELY silly to have that stance in society when every bloody minivan and SUV automatically comes with a heavy tint window... try and buy a standard minimvan or SUV without a tinted window! In a minivan you could have a .50 calibre chain gun in their and the cop would never know it. From that perspective, might as well let people tint. I'd say 20% at the back and 30% on the sides max though.

As for no front plate, that would be wonderful. Though again I can see why police prefer to have a front plate, both for laser trapping and identification.

Naaaaah, you gotta go darker than 20% on the back. 20% inside is practically clear when looking out. Besides every darn Ford truck seems to have insanely bright headlights on all the time. 2PM on a sunny afternoon and you'll be at a light with an F-250 behind you with headlights (DRL's) and fog lights on.

Minivans without tint look horrible. Especially the Caravans. They just need it. How are you going to A/C an SUV without tint. It'll never cool down.

Drumhawk, I suppose the tint would help you if you got T-boned by a unicyclist....but how often does that happen?

I think regardless of what tint you have on your doors, when a cop pulls you over you're gonna put the window down all the way to avoid getting a tint ticket and just to try and avoid any ticket.

They should make rap music illegal and tinting legal. It's the guys with the boom boom cars that are getting into all sorts of trouble.

Strange police are against tinting when 98% of them wear sunglasses.

Speaking of cops vs front plates. Figure this one out. Texas doesn't have rear plate stickers. You know how you get one that says Jul 04 or something like that? The license plates there are stickerless just like the front. They put small tiny unreadable stickers in their front window instead.

I asked what's the idea behind this? I would think a cop would never be able to tell if your insurance is expired. Turns out, too many people were stealing the stickers on the plate.

So I'm divided. It looks nice having a back plate without 10 years of stickers on there. But then again, you have to scrape that sumbitch off your front window with a knife to put the new sticker on.

Actually, I believe it's illegal in BC to have more than 5 decals on top of each other.

I scrape the decal off every year. This year since the decals are 2/3rd the size of previous years, if you don't scrape it looks gimpy.

What's good for the goose in NOT good for the gander... and we are the ganders! Lol. But I see their right to do that. The police are in a position where they need to be in the upper hand position. They have to deal with rat-bags on a far more regular and serious level than any of us do.

If I'm a cop, I want tinted windows outlawed and two plates on all cars. It makes my job easier.

Jason, I just got my decal last friday and it's the same size as last year. Damn those things though... I can never get them off... they come off in pieces.

But you're forgetting. The door tint looks clear when you approach the car from behind. It's only from the front at an angle that it ever seems dark.

If you're a cop, I want you to have your light bar on everytime you drive anywhere. I also want your K band on 100% of the time as well. And no ghost cars. That's just cheating. (Hey we have to even up the odds here)

Even Sgt Stadenko would think it's cruel to pull somebody over only because they have 6 decals on there.

Damn cops,

Got pulled over in delta today and now I have 10 days to put licience plate on a show them. Hell I only had the car a week. I guess this is what happens when you do the speed limit through a school zone. Damn female cop even, and an ugly one.

I am sure the people passing me though I was speeding through the school zone and getting a speeding ticket. I know it is against the law not to have a front plate, BUT WHAT A STUPID LAW. And she asked me like 4 times if it was my car, WTF.

Have a nice day officer, and thank you very much.

I was told by a cop during a arguement i was having with him over a tint ticket, that the reason its against the law to have tinted drivers and passenger windows was for the drivers saftey. He said at night its too dark to see properly out of a tinted window. I never had any problems and that was with atleast 15% on the windows. So he was either a moron (most likely) or cops just make up bullsh!t reasons.

ever see those chase videos on fox or spike tv? i think they dont want tint because if they try and pull over someone and have to smash the window to drag them out the window wont shatter it will stay in one piece more or less.

I have 18% on the sides and 3 % on the back . I always roll both side windows all the way down as soon as I get pulled over as a courtesy to the cop. Im with Chris with them having a bitch of a job to do .

The front plate = ghey though .

Good point . . . . one of the reasons I love having the tinted side glass is no one can smash and grab my radar detector/ wallet etc without a bit of a struggle unless they go through the t roofs. The guy that sells the stuff says its a bitch to get through and you have to pretty much slice it with a blade.
