Ricers challenging you?

I see so many people complain about ricers revving up, challenging for races, etc... on all the boards, but I've never had any bug me before. You read most forums and it sounds like it happens to each camaro twice a day. Do they just not race that much around here or are they just smarter locally?

What are everyone else's experiences?
Do any of you get bugged by them that much?

I think one time I had a prelude try and race me up a hill, but I'm not sure. It was hard to tell if he was going anywhere... Sounded like he was wide open, but I was only half throttle.

And I had a sunfire try and goad me once, but I sure startled and impress the hell out of him. He was pseudo-rice, I'd say.

But that's it over 10 years or so in various cars.

A lot of ricers are smarter now. They are starting to go to mission raceway where they soon find out that there modded Type-R integra does 15.1 @ 95 mph and not the low 13sec they thought. I know of a couple guys that this happened to.

i get very few challenges. I thought people would try a bit more against the Vette.

That being said I ate a very tasty Infinity G35 the other day.

Yeah every once i a while I'll get a challange, I never back down either Ussually I'm done with the challangers within the first 3 seconds, hence why I think the more power you have the less chance of getting pulled over cuz you've proven you point much faster.

Nice logic bunker

When I bought my car, I was driving it home on I-5 and I came up to this blue Mustang GT convertable with silver racing stripes. I just looked over at him, he saw me, he gunned it, didn't really do anything.. I waited until he was about a car length in front before I downshifted into third and flew by him.. That wasn't really a race, boy do I dislike Mustangs, haha.

I used to get challenges...not anymore though.

I think the ricer community is more educated now...Hows this for a math quiz; Who would win?: +400hp TransAm with an m6 and 4.30's in the rear or a 150hp Honda/Nissan/Toyota with NO torque or traction (if it has any power). Seems like a simple answer to me and I think they realize its not worth loosing their DL over.

BTW: I don't consider the Supra's, 300/350z, NSX etc. rice. I don't mind those rides. Maybe one day I will own one of them for a road course car?

SR20DET swap?
There's this kid here who has one and claims he will run low 12s with his setup.
I can set up a race because seeing him get OWNED could be sweet!

Nah.........rice usually leaves well alone.

It's those damn fox body Mustangs that are always wanting to play.
I'd say I get into it with 2 or 3 a summer.
