Rack and Pinion....

...another question...I'm in the middle of removing my upper and lower a-arms and I'm having issue's removing the bolt at the rack and pinion...the rack is blocking the removal of that bolt..therefore hindering Shawn R. of getting his lowers ...is there the only two bolts holding the rack in place at the k-member...I just need to move it a half an inch..thanks alot..

Mike

Hmmm. I know the problem. You cannot remove the last bolt on the A-Arm because it will not clear the inner tie rod end.

It seems to me that there was two bolts that secured the rack and pinion. That was it. I then just pulled the rack out a little.

I'll check now and also the Haynes

Yeah I just see the two bolts that secure the steering. Have you removed those?

tap it gently with a hammer to see if it needs to break loose.
