Question about LT1 to LS1 front brake conversion

Some people (including Shaun) have suggested I upgrade the front brakes on my 95 TA to the LS1 setup.

Does anyone know if I would also need the brake line bracket that attaches the line to the car?

I read one place on the Internet that the bracket is needed, but I wanted to check with you guys as well.

Thanks!

You definately want it if you can get it.

My kit did NOT come with the bracket and I made it work, but prefered to have the bracket.

I agree, mine was bent to fit, which i knew I had to do, but I just didn't have the parts.

And while everyone on the board says its fine, i'd rather it wasn't... I'll be looking to get the proper bracket as soon as i can just for my own peice of mind!

do you have a line on the brackets by any chance??

bunker, you have the LS1 Baer conversion???

Did you get it a long time ago?
As far as I know, currently Baer only offers kits (their entry-level kits that is) with Corvette C4 and C5 calipers.

I got the LS1 spindles & LS1 Baers for rotors/calipers & stainless steel brake lines, you can get them any time, mine were purchased about a year ago, put on just about a week ago

I just bent my stock bracket a little.

the LS1 brakes make a noticable difference but replacing the lines and line brackets is not necessary.

For those who did the LT1 to LS1 conversion, did you end up re-using the LT1 brake hoses?

And, if so, was it because:
- the LS1 brakes hoses are too short, or
- you didn't have the LS1 brake hoses?

Thanks,
Rob

I did and bent the bracket I had some steel lines but getting the old ones off is too much of a PITA Your worrying over nothing the hardest part of the install is getting the spindle out without screwing up your ball joint or just replacing your ball joints. Get some of those solo bleeders too make the job a breeze. It really is easy....
