I will have some Nittos if I can get some 9 inch wide rims for the rear. They are 275 wide. Any ideas?
Duane
Thanks for the comments
Gezz, I really can't help you however if you only needed 8 inch wide rims and if Nissan 300 ZX turbo rear wheels bolt pattern is the same is your car, maybe try them. No idea on the off-set. Are you sure you need 9 inch wide on 275?
When you crash your car (when street racing or speeding) you get a driving with undue care and attention ticket on top of what ever charges you may have comming...standard issue. Trust me, I have experienced this first hand and for the record, it's a $345 ticket and 6 points on your liecence.
Real street racing will come back (like it did in the early 90's) but I don't think for a couple more years until the heavy fines filter out the ricers.

I only crashed that cavalier once, and the ticket I got went to court and was a no show. Andy just got the shorter stick in life.

I won't get into the street vs track debate - both sides have merit (and disadvantages). But I will get back to the original topic.
Two races are worth noting. Both were with the 2600 stall and Goodyears (not nittos), so a little slower than I am now. One was a win (Viper), the other a loss (M5).
The Viper was an early model (with side exhaust) and we went from a stop (naturally). We both launched well but I definitely hooked better and shot off to a 2 car lead in the first 60 or so. By the end of the run (1/4 mile) I was still ahead by 1.5+ lengths. He had started to gain a little on top end as we climbed over 90 mph, but only a foot or two. Clean win I was happy with.
The M5 was a loss (and luckily the only loss I've had so far... though I've never raced anything with ET streets, etc. so there are a lot of serious cars I have not met). When we lined up, I fully knew what the M5 was capable of and didn't underestimate it (some have gotten in the high 12s stock). When we launched from the light, he had a very good launch and mine was poor with too much shredding rubber for the first 60. He quickly jumped 3 car lengths on me. By the end of the run, I had stolen back a half carlength or so, but not enough to catch him. My loss. I'll get him next time.

I really want to have these mounted by the next street legal and import shoot out.
I am not sure the offset on these rims I have now.

My best kill was revenge
There is a guy around with a grey ford taurus that looks totally stock. Complete with faded/peeling paint and hubcaps. Thing is he has a cammer 4.6L and cobra suspension in it. Best sleeper Ive ever seen. Anyhow, when I had a 350ci in the camaro he suckered me in, I went to pass him half hearted and he pulled on me. By the time I figured out I was in for a real race I had lost.... Badly. After that engine ate a camshaft a few weeks later I installed the 377ci. I ran into him a bit later at a light and revved my engine. He remembered me and got ready to run. I whipped him so bad its not funny. Ok maybe it IS funny
. We talked after that race and the guy was pretty cool. The install was done very nicely too, I dont think I could have done better. Only seen him those 2 times though. Maybe someone here knows him? Anyhow, thats my favorite kill.
