Don't know your mods but I'd say the Z06 beat you 3 times and let up 3 times.

Your talking about a done up lt1 vs a stock ls6. I would be pi$$ed if I had a modded lt1 that could only equal vette performance.

There isnt a whole lot of difference between the lt1 and 2000 and older Ls1s performance wise. Its going to come down to the driver.

I do think the Lt1 is underrated but to say the Ls1 is overrated is a joke. The modabilty of the Ls1 is reaching new heights every month. It seems like every day Im reading threads on NA 500rwhp that are steet cars/daily drivers.

home ported heads and a lt4 hot cam is hardly modded up. why should musky be pissed?? cause he beat a 80+ thousand dollar race bred c5 in his lt1???

obviously i was joking around when i say its overrated, but to me it just seems that way around here. anyone can type in HP numbers on the net. lets see someone local do a heads and cam on there ls1 and take it to the track, then if it performs good ill give it a

Of course the sky is the limit when it comes to modding, but that isnt a two hour bolt on job either.

I didnt say musky should be pissed, I said I would be. I could care less that its an 80k vette, 360-370rwhp is f*ck all nowadays.

It wasnt obvious. My apologies for seeing it the wrong way.

anyone can type in HP numbers on the net.
Does that mean everyone is full of ****. Dynos are doctered? Vids are edited? Seriously, you would have to be a moron to think that. Im a little confused with that comment.

ets see someone local do a heads and cam on there ls1 and take it to the track, then if it performs good ill give it a
That will be done in the off season and if I dont hand a stock vette its a$$, Ill be pi$$ed.

Not trying to start a p!ssing match with you Roy. Just like your defending your motor, Im defending mine. The way I see it they are both awesome.

I just realized I screwed up my wording. We only raced 3 times but we were equal every time. He'd actually pull on me by a bumper at the start of each run but then I'd catch him and we'd stay even. It was kinda wierd it actually felt like I had more highend power and he had more low end???? I think it was the gearing. I believe the Z06 has higher gearing then my stock 3.42's. So he was pulling when I wasn't and Vise versa.

All this talk about LS1's versus LT1's?????? Come-on guys we're brothers!!! I obviously like the newer LS1 power plants over the LT1's but there is a price difference. With my limited budget I'm very pleased to have a car that can hang with a Z06. I'm pretty sure if we were equal drivers the Z06 would of taken me. They trap around 116mph whereas I'm trapping 113mph.
Technical BS aside it was awesome. There are a couple other things that happened I don't want to post, I'll tell you guys when I see you at the java hut

All I have to say is the name Joe Overton: Fastest 4th Gen F-Body n/a ANYWHERE....I think 9.6's with stock LT1 block, and 23 degree heads.

Also, the car that won the LS1Tech N Vs. S shootout was a high 8sec LT1 with stock (highly ported) LT4 Heads and Intake.

LS1 is the way I would go if I could start over but anyone who thinks the LT1 is too outdated can just look at the results on the track....and I don't mean just locally.

Yep LT1s are awesome, as for superior ignition system? Umm... exclude me please, I have the same LS1 coils with 2" spark plug wires on my LT1, its called LTCC LOL, the only part of the opti I kept was the optical sensor which referenced the PCM for cam degrees relative to crank position, & the LS1 uses a magnetic pick up for the crank sensor, so mine is optical & LS1 is magnetic, the rest is the same, 8 coils LOL.

Anywho LS1s are a 10X better engine, being one to work on them & see the design of the heads/engine in every aspect its just that much better!

As for horsepower, they are the same when you are talking big POWER, sure an LT1 can get some 15* heads & eat LS1s all day, but mod for mod there is no comparison as from what I see on the board, & as for the design & enginuity I say LS1 Hands down & I'm proud that GM has the best engine in the world, she gets 30MPG on the highway & still makes over 400HP at the crank stock, well the LS6 but you konw what I mean, what other manufacturer can beat that in this WORLD naturaly aspirated? Noone, not N/A & still get this kind of gas milage. They are also very reliable & best of all, still use ONE cam & 16 pushrods LOL!
