Will get your's done I know what you are going to say is the flaw the bend by the rad/abs, this is the best way around having a kink in the pipe, not much room to work with there but you could bend it there as well instead of the weld

Mike got to see this thing when it was just a big peice of pipe, he can truly appreciate my work

the design flaw, isnt really a flaw

just a way to make it better, its best to have the air travel as straight as possible before entering the MAF .. this is especially good for people with descreened MAFs,

the bend u see right before the MAF, i wuold move that by the fusebox and have the CAI go dead straight in the MAF ...

if ur MAF is untouched, the screen will straighten out the air flow .. but its also a small restriction ... removal of the screen has resulted in upto 30-40 more AGFS of air flow .. what that translates into CFM and HP? probably not much .. but every little thing counts

ps. my ABS unit is moved to accomodate a 4" pipe so im sure we can work it out the way i want it the true meaning of a custom CAI

The bend would be much larger if made by the fuse box.

The best way around it all is moving the fuse box but I got lazy Maybe next year

BTW the GN guys found by welding a "X" inside it straightend flow and gave more consistant readings

I would add say a 6in long flat peice to the inside the lines up with the "Wing"

Study Notes so far Conquer..

-Pipe should be straight, to straighten airflow to unscreened MAFs
-Welding an X into the pipe will help airflow, and improve numbers.

Anything else we need to know to design the ultimate CAI?

How about getting a coating on it like what you can get on headers?
