Unhappy No Throttle body - so car STILL sleeping

Ug. I should be cruising around in the sun, down at the beach, with weather like this, but NO! my throttle body is still in never-neverland.

I gotta vent. This is a VERY minor problem, but its being going on for so long, I just need to rant.

Two months ago I send my TB in to Bauer Racing in NY to get a little better porting done, etc. (great rep for the work Bret has done there on TBs - everyone loves the work) No big deal though, just a couple of ponbies for a hundred+ bucks, but still better than doing nothing. Besides, my car was in storage and not going anywhere for a few weeks anyways, so I didn't need my TB.

I ship the unit down and it arrives in NY in 20 hours (love FedEx). They get it and ask me how quick I want it. I said end of next week is good (cuz car's in storage, etc..).

Two weeks later, I contact them about status - the guy's been sick, so not done yet, "But we'll get on it tomorrow."

week 3: Contact them and they say my TB got mislabelled so it didn't get done with the others. "Sorry, we'll get on it tomorrow."

week 4: Contact them and they say that a 'rush' job came up the HAD to be done, "But, we'll get on it tomorrow."

week 5: Contact them. They ran out of parts, "But we'll take them out of another unit and get it done tomorrow."

End of week 5: Contact them. Its done, but they just need to find out the shipping cost so I can pay them via Paypal. "We'll find out tomorrow." Ok.

Week 6: Contact them. They haven't had time to get pricing, "But we'll get on it tomorrow." I explain that I need the unit in about 8 days for a dyno session. They say, "It's friday, we'll get it to you by Monday/Tuesday." Ok.

Week 7: Contact them to see if it got out the door. The say it went USPS International Air, "should be there quick."

Week 8: Contact them. Still not here at my door. Do you have a tracking # or insurance, because it's a week overdue. "Don't worry, USPS sometimes screws up royally." Great, so you have insurance on it? "Nope." Great.

End of week 8: No TB. Really pissed off ChriSS. Not a good combination. Leave them a message that it's still not here and that I'm geting slightly upset. I think USPS Int'l Air means that the delivery guys attach it to the nearest homing pigeon and hope for the best. (FedEx 20 hours - USPS 20 days, and FedEx cost me less than what they charged me for USPS). Sick.

No response yet.

Hope week 9 (starting May 1st) goes better. Bet it will arrive as soon as the rain comes...

Holy fu*k man. I cant believe that BS. Is there no tracking number??? I can relate to your frustration as I seem to always get the screw around/poor customer service with everything Ive ordered. Hopefully it turns up sooner then later.

Yeah Kaos. I know you've gone through this crap too.

Just amazes how poor some companies are in this industry. One day, great service - next day, no service.

I have been TRYING to give some painting business to a local guy for the last three weeks. He has missed FIVE appointment to come and paint the engine bay of the TA at my home. Doesn't take very long.

I want him to paint the engine bay, paint and cut polish the car and paint and do some tribal flames on the Sunfire. A fair amount of work i would have said. This is a high end guy and I know that he has other jobs on the go but I too have a life.

So I'm going to another dude now.

Haha!

Only prob is the Mods don't like such talk about the sponsors... but if I don't get satisfaction, I will do something.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Chris. If you sent it to this guy because of referals of this forum you should post a message about your experience. Or, if the mods are overly sensitive try it as a question. IE how long did it take for etc etc? then explain whats happened. Failing that, maybe jumping up on a desk and yelling will help?

it will take a while for the mods to reconize it, and by then you may have reached enough people. but does bauer advertise on ls1 tech, etc?

I dont know if Baur is a sponsor on tech either, but if they are, the mods would not have a problem with you making a post about this. People need to hear this sh*t.

Personally, after what youve been through, I would never do business with them.

call the shipping companie & tell them your name & the name of the business. Tell them that you are filling a complaint against both the Company & them & tell them the price you paid for everything.

They need to find it ASAP.

I've dealt with them on a $1,200 order and found Bret to be generally helpful, always fast to respond to my emails and he got me great prices on my package.

I understand he tends to ships USPS to Canada so we do not get nailed with the UPS type brokerage fees - I believe that shipping USPS is actually a small PITA for him as he makes a special trip to the post office rather than having UPS come to his door.

Did you request UPS or USPS?

Anyway - none of that helps as your missing the TB and not driving! I just wanted to say that your experience is not the norm for these guys.

Hope it arrives soon.
