Yeah, I'd like to know what it costs to get it done right (not necessarily getting a shop to do it, but just doing it with longetivity in mind). Twitch, Payam, Johnny?

A basic kit will cost about 750-800 from Mopac for a wet kit. Above that, it all depends how safe you want to be. A Window switch with pills will be another 100 dollars. a fuel pressure safety switch another 50 dollars. an electric fuel pressure gauge will be around 250. You might also want to get a timing retard box, anywhere from 100 to 500 (going from a used crane TRC to a nice new MSD digital 6). you will also need to install colder plugs which will be another 25 bucks or so.

Then you have your "Accessories". THese include a purge system, metal bottle brackets, blowdown tubes, bottle heaters, and a remote bottle opener.

The below will give you an idea on price Also you can install it at home, no problem. As for longevity, there are things you can do but there is no gaurantees You have to realize that if you are going to spray be prepared for the fact that things may go wrong. Although if you play it safe you will be fine for the most part

Basics
NX Base Kit $650cdn

This is sense as everything you need to spray(Bottle, Brackets, Solenoids, Lines, Nozzle) Although this is not the safest route. This is all I use

Recommended Components

Window Switch $115cdn

Blow Down Tube $40cdn

Fuel Press Safety Switch $70cdn

Colder Plugs (NGK TR-6) $25cdn

Optional Accessories

Bottle Heater $300cdn

Purge $150cdn

Remote Bottle Opener $300

All these prices are cdn but they are from american vendors, so either add the shipping or buy it locally from Chief Chassis and add a little more to the price . He is the only local NX dealer.

So looking over all of this your best option is to buy the Base NX Kit($650) and get the Gen-X-GEN-X upgrade -bottle heater, pressure gauge, fuel safety switch, blow-down fitting and tube($425) and then all you have left to buy is your window switch($115cdn) and plugs $25. So basically you can have an efficient and moderately "safe" Nitrous set-up for about $1215cdn + Shipping

Ok , Ive got the 5177 dry NOS brand kit which includes

*15 # bottle

*High flow valve and guage

*Fuel pressure safty switch

*full throttle switch

* two noids

* blow down tube ( I had to build my own for the track )

* All wireing etc and connections for the *basic* Kit and 75 / / 85 /100 jets I beleive . Also a two nossle settup .

790 .00 cnd tax incl.

Extras

MSD window switch 138$$ inc tax plus pills @ 20 $ a pack . THIS iS A MUST FOR ANY SIX SPEED CAR . Mopac told me I didnt need it but ls1.com said I did and I owe them my motor

NOS Bottle heater ( MUST HAVE ) 200 $ = tax

Remote bottle opener 280 $ tax in

Purge 150 + tax ( I dont have this )

Switches 20 $ each ( jet fighter style )

Extra jets 5 $ each I think

Remote Nitrous Pressure Guage ( like payams ) aprox 300 $ is a must !! I still need one .

Ls1 timing tuner , 280 usd . This trick little bastard alows you to run all your timing on the street and uses a trigger switch to retard timing while you spray . I need one of these still also . A general rule of thumb is 2 * retard for every 50 hp shot .

Progressive controler Varies in cost

that would be sweet

i didn't think this stuff cost that much, but i definatly would want to do it as safe as i could so i would spend all the extra cash on the gauges and stuff.

Thats the one !! Team that up with there new progressive and a better fuel system and you will be a god !

Im addicted to nitrous now , theres no doubt . Even a simple 75 shot dry for your ls1 is safe and you could have it on tap for those pesky cars that just dont wanna lose . Ive got mine at 125 but for the most part I leave the bottle warmer off so its like 80 , now with the remote opener its tha cats *** . When I feel its going to be close or just want to humiliate a ricer whos with his girl , its there and at the lower pressure theres no harm to the engine and its cheaper . I would purchase a small kit and warmer . . . cumon man . . . everyone else is doing it , dont cha wanna be like everyone else

heres what i got for about 500 US

NOS 10 lb bottle, NOS hi flow valve, NOS remote bottle opener, bottle heater, bottle blanket, purge, all lines (nitrous and fuel), solenoids, jets for 75-150 shot, jacobs nitrous mastermind progressive controller, TNT TB spray plate with fogger nozzles, autometer nitous pressure gauge.

the jacob nitrous master mind has built in-fuel pressure saftey switch, rpm switch, window switch, timing retard, you can control the amount of nitrous between rpm(solves traction issues), and the percentage of the nitous shot, meaning you can leave in a 100 shot jet and shoot 75 percent of the shot for a 75 shot without changing jets all at the comfort of your driver seat. the controller was brand new never installed. it retails for about 200 US.

look around the for sale section and get your self a used kit if you wanna save a ton of cash.
