I almost got the same setup in mine .. except for koni DAs .. sometimes i wish i would have gotten the SAs instead .. the DAs softest bump setting is still stiffer than the SA .. not sure about their rebound adjustment range ...

damn convertible, makes it so hard to adjust rebound i havent even touched mine yet

Yup Da = lighter wallet mod unless your racing and you know how to set them up . Sometimes more adjustments = too many adjustments.

Also pro kit sooo soft for Da's , there a racing shock hence the higher out of the box settings. You may want to swap in a set of LG motorsport springs and see how it feels. My guess is you are are essentialy riding your shock damping around the street. . .

Edit: I didnt know yours are the oem GM DA's, not sure if they are internally the same as the out of the box units from koni.

very possible ... I just got the prokit because i scored a good deal on them .. same with the DAs (dont ask me what i paid for all 4 cuz u'll kick urself)

i may end up swapping the springs, but at the time I just couldnt find any spring that I wanted ... the LG ones have a less linear stiffness than the pro kits at the end of their scale

but that may be whats causing the crappy ride... I'll let u take it for a test drive on sunday .. tell me how u like it

well you have to factor in 40 000 km's of use , thats alot for any high wearing part.

The prob with the pro kits is you will never see the end of there spring rates because your already out of travel. . . . this is especially noticable on later models with the 1/2 inch alluminum bump stop spacer. You can ruffly fit two fingers between the bump stop and the axle on the pro kit/ sportlines and the setup I have now. Eibachs are mush for the first few inches of travel . .. thats way more important than what there final rates are imo.

Reach in and check how much room you have before its on the stops out back. . . .

Hey Darrin, that's a pretty sweet set up your
puttin' in your beast. So you decided to keep
the pro kit after all. I had my car out on the
holiday Monday & some A$$ rearended me out
in Abbotsford @ a 4 way stop . Now she's
@ the body shop.
PS, hope you like your new set up.

No no Steve...the GC kit uses different springs for the coilover setup. I still got my prokit for sale. Interested?

Anyway all, it was a long day. Spent the entire day at the shop. Things took alot longer than I expected. Got everydone done except the SFCs. The biggest b1tch was installing the new bushing kit...that ate up a lot of time.

I lowered the car 2.25 on the front and 1.5 in the rear first crack. I made a couple fine adjustments and tried it out. Outside of the alignment being out, i was very impressed with the ride. I could defineately feel more of the road and the car felt very tight. The handling has no doubt improved big time. I didnt some mid speed power slides and the car was extremely stable.

I felt 2.25 was too low however and bumped it up to 1.75 on the front. That half inch took some looks out of the car however. It looked really good lower, but it was just too low. I was also concerned that I might be messing too much with the suspension geometry with the car that low. Im not sure, but if someone has some info, please let me know.

Another thing, I didnt put on my relocation brackets. I have heard many stories about wheel hop with a lowered car. I laid a 100 foot strap and had no problems at all.

Ill be in for an alignment tomorrow.

Darren
