New Suspension Going in Tomorrow:)

WOOT!! WOOT!!

I cant wait. A friend of mine who owns his own mechanics shop will be helping out. Might as well take advantage of the hoist, pit and tools. Going in:

GC Coilovers
Eibach Springs
Koni SAs
LG LCAs
LG Torque arm
LG Panhard bar
Spohn Cromoly SFCs
Energy Suspension front control arm bushing kit

Ill be going for an alignment right after everything goes in. Anyone got any alignment specs I should be shooting for?

Other then unhooking the battery, any last minute advice?

Let me know how these turn out. What are the specs on your springs?

Twitch, have you got any recent pricing on the Koni's and the coilovers? You never did get back to me on those

Ok....my guesstimate was way off....7 pounds on the nose. So for 14 total pounds vs the much improved chassis stiffness...I dont have a problem with that.

Keep us posted with pics

Do you have a plan for setting up the konis yet ?? Id start out 3.5 sweeps up from full soft out front and 1 - 2 sweeps up out back. I made the mistake of starting out almost full hard and it was like stuffing rocks up my *** cruising arond town. . . and use the lower spring perch setting on the front shocks so you dont run outa threads incase you want her slammed .

Do you have a tool for removing the top hat ?

Mr bains I havent looked into it in a while. . . koni upped there pricing across the board 04/04. . . . might be a good idea to run into slopac and see if you can score a set at there old price.

Im not dealing as much with Gc right now ( not direct anymore as ther dick heads ) I just go through a company that ships them for me so I dont have to deal with them and sellem for list. I personaly hope they go bankrupt but there **** works good and sells well so bah. . . .

Which reminds me , throw a coat of trimclad on your rear springs that come with the gc kit and then respray them silver / gunmetal. Mine started to rust to **** right away and I had to strip them and refinish them .

I fabbed one up. Those nuts were still a b!tch to get off though. One of the nuts was close to being stripped b/c the socket was spreading.....even with some vice grips on the socket as well. It all worked out though.

I was thinking of going with 4 sweeps for the front and 1 on the back. Anything more I think will be too much. You must have been close to bouncing off the road with the initail "full hard" settings.

Glad to hear your suspension is going to turn out Kaos. I just find suspension to be such a variable mod. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnn't. Maybe I'm just bitter at how much my own suspension "correction" is going to cost. If I were one of the "stiff" suspension guys, I would be ALL over the open road racing offered by the Performance Driver's Club out of Mission. Only way to really test it out!

Well, I can't wait to hear your feedback after the install and some testing on those winding Kootenay roads.
