New NHRA rules and MRP?

New NHRA rules and MRP?
Has anyone been to Mission yet and 'tested' or inquired about the new NHRA rules?
In particular, running 11.50-11.99 and not requiring a rollcage. I'm just curious if they are applying that now, and HOW they are applying it - that is, how will a modded f-body running high 11's be received. Instant kick-off? I think the rule technicially only applies to stock cars in that ET range, such as Vipers and such, but it depends how strict they want to be.

If your car is on "the list"..............you can. At least I was told I can run that without cage. But if I keep getting beat by damn ******* wagons (GERRY), I won't be in the 11s anyway.

This is from MRP's website:
One thing not listed is that ALL motorcycles need a lanyard to kill the ignition of a bike if the rider becomes disconnected from the bike. (NHRA says 120mph+ requires lanyard)

* All vehicles must drain antifreeze prior to racing (except 1995 or newer stock cars and trucks with sealed factory coolant system). Bring a plastic container.

* All vehicles must have a functional neutral safety switch.
* All batteries must be securely mounted (no bungee cords, rope, wire etc) Relocated batteries please see NHRA Rulebook.

Re: New NHRA rules and MRP?
As Erik pointed out, that's the rules on MRP's site, and although I know they go by NHRA, some of those old timers there do NOT react to change very well. I notice that MRP has updated their web site, but I found it strange that they didn'y update their track rules at the same time, to be current. Which makes me wonder how they'll respond to the new rules, and interpret them. Of course, probably a seperate person does the web site from the person doing the info updates...
But, I am NOT going to call and find out. That will probably just open up a can of worms. Let sleeping dogs lie for now. I'll wait to see what happens.

It's very likely that you could get away with a car that meets the new rules, even if MRP would prefer that you meet their rules. You'll probably get away with it a few times, but they won't let you get away with it all year.

You cannot run engine mods or power adders and still qualify for the 11.50 rule. You are only allowed intake/exhaust/bolt-on changes. Dont discuss your heads and cam if they ask
