Y'know, I don't see what all the hype about this car is for.

Too me, from all the pics I have seen (including this one) it looks pretty much like a regular ol' C5 - thats another thing........if the changes are minor enough, why bother calling it a "C6"?

In my opinion you need a whole new car if it's going to be the next "C".

It's rather like the difference between the 97 and 98 F-bodys. They're all 4th gens, even though the change in look and engine.

GM should be saying that it's a C5 with a makeover.

OK the exterior might no tbe all that much different, but it will be getting a GEN IV smallblock and will weigh in at under 3000lbs. Sounds like some major change is in store to me!

The LS1 was "All New" to the Camaro in 98 and they didn't bother calling it a 5th Gen.....

I'm not deliberatly trying to be an *** or argumentative - on the contrary, I think this a good debate on a valid subject.

True, but the LS1 was just another 5.7L 2-valve motor. The GEN IV will be a 6.0L+ 3-valve design - much bigger step up IMO.

The new vette is going to be right there with the viper - I think it is worth a new designation since the C5's have no chance at all without major mods.

My computer wouldn't download those pics but I saw pics of the blue C6 vette at some GM sight. Very subtle appearance change and I wish I could you more than that except to say this one is supposed to be better. I think Kal started this thread cause he knows I'm interested in a new vette and he wants to buy my firehawk. Every time I see a new vette on the road I say, woulda, shoulda, coulda.
