New Addition to the Family (CTS-V)

Hey All

We just picked up a 2004 CTS-V. As Sean will testify, its a great ride.
Gobs of power, but the TA is definitely faster.
Its Silver with Black interior.
Now all we need is good weather.

Congrats on your purchase Armin, that makes 2 CTS-V's on the board now. I'm very curious about how reliable your rear mount STS turbo has been? Any trouble with moisture around the intake? I bet you only drive the TA in totally dry weather. How much boost are you running and what about your dyno numbers? Thanks.

Re: New Addition to the Family (CTS-V)

Hi

The turbo is extremely reliable. We drive the car all the time and normally
moisture is not a problem, unless you go thru a car wash with jets that wash the bottom of the car. I have since fabricated a housing around my filter intake and have had no problems since. As to the dyno, we havn't done it yet,but will when the weather improves. As to driving the turbo in this cold weather it feels like its added 50 HP, because of the cold air charge. Just goes to show that intercooling or metahanol will make a big difference.
I run nothing but 94 Octane just to make sure I dont lean it out, but on the other hand I dont get on it that often, only short bursts.

Good to hear that the TA is running good with the STS. Look forward to seeing the dyno rsults.

Congrats on the CTS-V. I'm sure Shaun will be keen to hear it.

Ok We HAVE to get these two cars together for pictures.

In fact we HAVE to get these FOUR cars togther.

That would make a pretty cool picture. What. About 2000 HP between four cars.

Did you buy the demo car from Carter? They had a silver one for sale. You mind if I ask how much you managed to get it for. "I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours"

And finally Congrats. I'm driving to Vegas at the end of this month for a racing school. You want to come too?

I'll take that bet!

It is an LS6 (405HP under-rated)

BTW: I sat in a silver C6 at Dueck yesterday...SICK SICK SICK is all I have to say! They don't even have door handles (electric solindoid button unside a pocket on the door)
