Can anyone do one on here for cheap? im getting the motor in soon. I'm pretty sure I can provide all the tools etc, and a place to have it done.

Re: Need window motor install

actually, i doubt u have all the tools needed for the job .. and i doubt anyone else around here does either (maybe mike)

u need a huge *** rivet gun... and trust me its a major pain in the *** .. i would rather re&re a motor than do another power window install .. just take it to a window shop... take the door panel off urself to save them some time and some money.. if ur also not good with a drill u may ruin the fibreglass while drilling out the old rivets then u'll be f*ct

The rivet gun you'll need is about 18-20" long and take both hands to operate and is a major PITA with steel rivets(cause you can't use regular aluminum rivets).

Re: Need window motor install

it costs $40 bucks a side at a typical shop...well worth the price in my opinion.

Re: Need window motor install

k, if its only like 40 bucks dont worry bout it, i thought it was a lot more, but then again i found out from GM how much it would be and they quoted like 400 including the part, but i got the part for 75 so 40 for labour is fine... thx for the heads up.

my uncle owns a parts shop somewhere in burnaby, he ordered it in for me, I can probably get him to order more for me if you want, but i would want to get mine in to make sure its good first just in case.

Rivets? For a window motor? I used bolts when I did mine last year... haven't had any problems with it. It is a pretty easy job.
