LT1 vs LS1
What are the stock 1/4 mile times for LT1 vs LS1? (TRANS-AM)
Are both equally modifyable?
How much does an aftermarket procharger supercharger cost?

a stock LS1 will generaly run 13.1-13.5 depending on year. the newer LS1's are faster then the older ones.
a stock LT1 will generally run a 13.9-14.2 bone stock.
An LT1 will be cheaper to modify with basic bolt-ons, however a heads and cam LS1 will be faster then a heads and cam LT1. Also the stock LS1 motor is a wee bit stronger then a stock LT1 so you can throw a little more nitrous and boost at it.

Procharger D-1 with Twin Intercooler for the LT1 is $5300cdn
Procharger D-1 with Intercooler for LS1 $6600cdn
As stated, cheaper to build up an LT1 but the LS1 will be faster in most cases
I my opinion the LS1 is much better
but for now I'll keep a few of them in my rear view

The aftermarket definitely favours the LT1, IMO. And, technicially, for less money, you can get the LT1 to go faster (because you're starting with a lower priced car). If I just wanted to go fast and had a really limited budget, I'd be going LT1.
I went LS1 though (as my budget isn't so limited - only partially
) because I loved the styling of the newer SS (or TA) and the basics of the engine.
In my A4, my LS1 was hitting 12.96 on a good pass. On the dyno, with only very minor intake (all ordered through GM, so technically factory), I was hitting 314-322 rwhp (and a little more torque). And that was in an automatic. Some of the 6-speeds (01-02 that have the LS6 intake) are pullin 325-335 rwhp. That is a very high starting point.
But, it all comes down to styling preferences, budget, and ultimate goal.

There both great cars...as of late working on Shawns and Craig..I found to be a lack of room...and the opti is bunk...you'll get better botom end from and LT1...but we have a bit of a stronger top end...so in the end pretty much equal
