Inexpensive high flow cats

Saw a thread in LT1 section about cat's and big cams. Some days the smell of the exhaust fumes makes me want to puke. What are some of the inexpensive high flow cats and how much do they go for locally?

Idle timing table is completely separate from cruise/WOT right? Soon as you break out past idle the whole table changes, am I correct?

yes

its not the "idle" timing table .. its the zero throttle table .. it goes thru the whole rpm range .. so it controls ur idle timing and decel / coast timing when ur throttle is at 0%

Fascinating payam joun, although i'm very happy with my tune, shout out to bunker for mad tuning skillz, i'd rather leave the tune alone.

As for air care, high flow cat vs stocker, is the difference that big? I guess when trying to get my car through air care I shouldn’t risk anything.

I'm not too worried about air care. The cam won't be that stubborn when it comes to emissions and will defiantly pollute less then a 306.

Because of the way my cam's durration is advertised. The 0.006 lift duration on the 230/236 is a degree or two higher than a hotcam. Your 306 cam also has 230 degrees of intake, but the advertised duration on it is 292 where my 230/236 is 282. Weird cam man, read up alot yesterday and today at work. Aircare will prove interesting.

When do u plan on doing aircare? I'd be interested to see how easily u pass. I like the way ur cam sounds and performs. I'd be interested in it if it passes aircare

its true that ur cam has less lift at .006 than mine does (10 degrees) big deal .. it still lifts the same amount for teh same duration past .050 which is what really counts

this debate will really go no where .. just go thru aircare and see if ur 2x off the limit or 50x

doubt u'll pass with that cam .. doubt i'll pass either

but i guess we can all try

i dont need to worry about aircare ...

i'll go thru with a 8.5:1 355 with a CC305 cam and proper cats should fly thru no problem

then i'll slap on the extra "air"

the cheapest cats with the highest flow would be stock ls1 cats, only one company out flows them.
