I need somehting to cut...
Does anyone have an open shoe grinder with a cutting wheel?
Air or Electric. I can use either.
I need something along those lines to cut a whole out of the transmission tunnel for the T56 shifter.
Don't need it for another week or two.
Thanks!

Thanks!
I'll use what ever would be best. So far everyone that had done this swap has used a cutting wheel.
They've suggested other methods suck as air-sheers / cutting torch.
I think a cutting wheel will do just fine though.
I'm cutting a hole in the floor board / transmision tunnel. My car was automatic but I'm dropping in a T56 now. Thus I need to cut out the hole so the shifter can come into the cockpit.

I have a dremel. I just don't want to spend $30 in bits and to be replacing them every three inches of metal I cut.
I wonder how much an air cutter rents out for.... unless someone has one I can use. An electric one would work just as well wouldn't it?

I did the swap for a buddy of mine i just used a hole saw to start the project then just ripped through the floor like putty with my sawzall. It took me about 5 minutes with a clean cut. If you want to borrow the sawzall let me know. Its the easiest way by far the blade on that thing well mall throught the floor board like no other
Whats a sawzall?
I guess thats not the same as a hack saw. That would take forever!
I just might have to take you up on that offer Mike! I'll probably be ready to start cutting...
hopefully next week!

I used a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade. Cut through it in 5 mins. Broke a blade or two but they are cheap.
