what to do now
Not happy with the HP from my camaro. I would like some advice on how to make close to 100hp gian and no SCs or nitro. Do they make a dumby proof head/cam kit or somehting like that. I'm not mechanicly advanced so I wouldnt know crap about how to match the heads and cam for best performance.
so far i got headers catback underdrive pcm K&N air filter. feels like the same HP to me, I'm ready for somehting I can feel and be proud of. Not this false claim S**t
20 catback
20 header
20 programed
10 underdrive
15 filter
MY @ss
any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks, Jason

A cam will make a very noticeable difference. Right now I'm running the XE 224/230 cam with stock heads. The cam really made a noticeable difference.
If you want to do a dummy-proof cam & heads, both Ai and Lloyd Elliot offer cylinder head porting and custom ground camshafts to match their heads and your needs. 100% dummy proof

"20 catback

real world is more like:
catback 10hp depending on brand
shorty headers 10hp, long tubes or mids 15hp
programming is about 10hp
underdrive is about 2hp and 5lbs of torque
filter is about 0.5hp
you're really only looking at about 30hp gain, nothing that makes a huge difference.
a note:
the filter on a stock air box is basically pointless, get a decent cold air kit and you'll probably notice a gain. right now you are breathing exhaust out good but still strainiing to pull air in.

if you buy the hotcam kit it will come with everything you need for the upgrade for roughly $500, minus fluids and gaskets.
Edit: You can also suffice without a tune. But you will gain more with it.

Yeah you can throw a Hot cam in there without changing everything else. You probably won't be happy though unless you do the whole kit, cam, 1.6RR, springs and stuff.
As the last post said, you will only be happy with the hot cam for awhile, you will go bigger later. I believe somebody mentioned an XE grind earlier, I would look into that with some 1.6RR, springs, and stuff. That would make you more happy than a Hot cam.

There will naturally be other supporting stuff that has to be purchased with the hotcam.
You'll need at a minimum a cam swap gasket kit.
You'll probably want to replace the Optispark, timing set, pushrods (if yours aren't hardened), rocker arms, maybe lifters, valve springs.
You'll also need to get a tune if you swap the cam.
I believe you could run the hotcam with stock 1.5 rockers, and stock pushrods, but you certainly won't get near the full potential out of it.
You can purchase the hotcam as a kit which includes the cam, rockers and springs. Then you'd need a set of hardened pushrods (if you don't already have them), a new timing set, and a set of gaskets and you should be ok.
You should probably do the intake and exhaust mods first though, cold air kit, cat-back, headers, that kind of thing. Then you'll be ready to really let that new cam breathe.
Oh, and for what it's worth... I gained 26 RWHP from just SLP cold air and a Magnaflow catback.
