Angry I have to rant - I got screwed!

This is a repost from the lounge..........I'm so mad I have to tell everyone!

I'm an electrician.
I work for the local school board on maintenance, and I do sidejobs - mostly for friends and friends of friends, and sometimes for friends of friends of friends..........

Long story short, or sort of.

I wired up a fellows hot tub and new room on his house as well as some lights and plugs around his new deck. It took me 9 hours, and near 700 in materials.

I always ask for at least half the money up front for materials. Some people will be more than happy, some are annoyed.

This guy was annoyed but didn't kick up too much fuss. He gave me 500 to cover most of it before I started.

I did the job and the came to him with my time and last of material's and he refuses to pay me.

He's trying to tell me that he asked around and my charging him $30 an hour for my time was way to much. He thinks it should be near 20.
He also argues with me about how long I was there - I did a lot of work and I work fast - it took me 9 hours! Yet he's only willing to give me money for 5.

This was all well over a month ago and he still hasn't paid me a cent.
I phoned him today and told him I'd like to come over and take out my material - he threatened me with the police and told me to never set foot on his property! Unfortunetly he right - once it's installed it's his, I was just hoping he didn't know that......
Then he said he's not going to pay me anything, becuase he had to fix something that I put in (although he wouldn't tell me what it was)
Aaarrgghhh!!!

I can't pursue legal action becuase there was no contract and I was doing the job for cash.

I'm not a violent person by nature - but I can learn.

Sorry this was sooo long. I had to tell someone - my blood is just pumping it's makes me so mad.

OR . . . .Smash a hole in his hottub OR add stuff to his hottub that will give him a rash and then smash a hole in it later . This guy needs to be ****ed up , some people are just like that . I bet you he has done this to other people and gotten away with it , he probably never planned to pay you anything . Take it out of his *** .

What kind of car does he drive ?? Does he have any expensive stuff around the house ?? Whats the deductable for house insurance on glass etc right now ?? Who had the pellet gun for sale ??

My brother inlaw installs windshields for a living . He gets people all the time that do not pay . . . they never planned on paying or they use credit and it doesnt go through etc . He just smashes the windshields out . Why should you let this chump **** with you . Take what he owes you . . . multiply it by 4 and cause enough damage in his life to soak up ATLEAST that amount while causeing him mass amounts of stress . Mix it up a little . . . some broken windows in his house . . . some missing trash cans and garden guys . Sell his cat to a kid a few neigbourhoods over . . . over fertalize his lawn untill it self destructs . Get a can of spray bomb clearcoat and dust a mist on his cars every day . . ..

. . Get a couple cans of mono foam and fill up his exhaust !! Poor gunwash over his cars paintjob a little every week untill it looks 40 years old . Watch his house and steel everything from his garage when hes not looking . Take his ****ing lawnmower when hes out back emptying the bag . Get a can of stink bomb spray from the crap store and slip the nozzle past the window rubber and into his car . . . empty cans entire contents . Purcase a second can and do his mail slot . I know a guy with a tow truck , we can yank his car , slim jim the doors and spend a couple creative hours in his engine compartment , return the car befor he notices . Shop bill will easilly be 1000.00

As far as legal action, I've consulted with people in the know and was told that it's a no go. I could go ahead and throw a lean on his house for $120 though........but I don't want to throw anymore money at this problem.

When I first started I asked the fellow to get a homeowners permit, and he agreed. Even asked me how much to put down and where to get it.
I found out at the end of the job that he never did.
So all it would take would be a friendly call to the local Electrical Inspector with a tip as to where a person did a job without a permit and they may ask him to take down some walls to see the work done........

Tw!tchB!tch, love all of you suggestions.
Laughed out loud at the lawnmower one..........
It may come to that.......

Crack some eggs in his defrost grille. That stuff STINKS! And how do you get it out?

Offer to hook up a GFCC(onnector) instead of a GFCI. That way he gets shocked.

Could burn his house down, but then he's sue you for faulty wiring.

How good are you with wiring? Could you snip the powerline to his house? Preferably in the wintertime when it's freezing. No wait, he would suspect you of it.

When it comes down to it, I'd just phone up the building inspector. Those guys can be real dinks when it comes to passing your home. I speak from experience.
