Hilarious vid

Ok, now this is seriously the funniest thing I have seen in a very long time!
Click on the pic of the guy standing behind some "swords"
http://therionarms.com/reenact/swords.shtml

Little info for those that may not know, stainless steel is far too brittle for any blade. Not to mention a "practice katana". It is guys like that loser that sell stainless decorations as swords leading people to think they are actually safe to swing around. Lots of people have been hurt when a peice of blade hit them.
Not many people realize just how dangerous a sword is. I have seen test cuts with live steel (hand and a half) into dead pig and was amazed at the depth of the cuts with one handed combat speed strikes (not running at it with 2 hands).

That guy has crap for brains.

Hopefully he wasn't too badly hurt.

Pretty funny all the same.

Yes Armin, the blade broke. This is why SS "swords" are only meant to look pretty on your wall and nothing else. Just swinging them can break them. They are very brittle and will snap with very little impact. Real swords are a carbon or spring steel to allow them to flex a little. Problem with that is they are a bitch to keep looking good. Have to constantly oil and clean them. The acids in your skin will leave stains on blades so never touch someones blade with your hands. Would be like putting your beer can on someones show car .
Cheers.

That's frickin hilarious! Fortunately it looks like it was just a tip that likely went into him an inch or so and it exited pretty swiftly... enough to teach him a lesson, but not enough to unfortunately put him out of existence... Poor little fella...

I've never seen anyone that ignorant with a weapon before (guess most people wouldn't know anyways, so maybe you can't blame them). I have seen a few people take some good chunks out of the wall or ceiling, not realizing that a 4.5 foot sword combined with a 1.5 ft armlength and a 6 ft body do not work well in a room with a 9 foot ceiling...

Cory, Carbon is added to metal to make it hard/brittle, less carbon = less brittle, more carbon = more brittle lol.

Yes Matt, that isnt news to me. Mild steel doesnt make for a very good sword. Way too soft to hold an edge and shape. Thats why some carbon is added to the steel to make it a bit harder. Yes, it increases the chances of breaking if you have too much carbon but that has always been the hard part for swordsmiths. Fairly fine line between too soft, and too hard. You want the sword to hold an edge, but not break or bend. You can still fight with a dull/dented/bent sword but you are usually dead with a broken one so they have always stayed on the soft side of that line.
