Thumbs up Started the Blown 68 (vid inside)

Basically the same vids except different camera angle.. the smoke is the headers heating up (new headers). Its a open headers fire up so its a little loud...it needs tuning etc. The guy in the videos is Gene Mosmeyer aka. Mean Gene. Still needs other things ie. exhaust, but this was the day I was waiting for, for about 1.5 years. I was not disappointed.

thanks for the replies! so far so good..only thing that went somewhat wrong was the bg280 pump I have has a leak in it..so I have to send it back to get rebuilt. Other then that..its going very good.

EDIT: No more pump problems..lower plate on the pump was loose..basically the bracket used to mount the pump used the screws to the bottom of the plate to mount...problem arose because lower plate is not level w/the rest of the pump, so washers were installed between the bracket and plate...viola..no more leaks..

Yeah!! Finally!!!

Glad to hear you got it going!! When do you think you might have it ready for some track work? I would love to go with you or at least meet you there then. Not too many blown motors at the track these days!

Jim,

For some reason I always think I've run into you or seen your car somewhere. Probably this weekend the exhuast will be on, then it needs small things to get it street ready..I'm hoping for sometime in January.

Very nice. Since I installed my litte Weiand 142 (first one in well over 10 years) I've been re-learning why I like these things. Sorta like a nitrous bottle that never runs dry. Good to see anther roots blower fan.

Over the winter I'm building the 383 motor for a little more performance, retaining the little 142 (it's so damned stealty and quiet). Swapping out my Iron Eagle heads for a set of AFR 190s plus a real blower cam (not a N/A cam like it has now) that's just a smidge more aggressive. Once I get it to breathe a little I figure I'll make as much power at 4 PSI as I do now at 6, plus have more detonation resistance.

I have been around a bit with it but mostly driving to and from the track. Its kinda hard to miss being pink and all . Keep us informed here how things progess, especially if your gonna be trying it out so soon (January) at the track. What kind of performance do you expect when this is all done?

if I were to venture a guess, I would say I should at least run 10's. The exhuast is going to be finished sunday, so it will be coming along pretty quick.
