10 000 kms on this giant pile of **** and the headlamps dont work . The pass side goes down and starts making a horrible GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR NOISE !! Im sOOOO Pissed off right now . It is SOOOOOO loud . What ****ty quality !!

Anybody know how to fix this ?? are the teath sripped ??

Now when I press my alarm button to arm or disarm the lights go up and down . . . they never did that before and the markers dont flash

dude same with mine, but mines ten years old!

you just gotta take the motor apart and replace the gear in it. and the head lamps like to go up and down with the park lights because "the car lets you know" that something is wrong. thats what another member told me anyway.

fix the stripped gear and the up/down thing will go away.

This is what makes me so pissed eh , took me one search and I got loads of people with exactly the same symptoms I think I will order the brass gears . Thanks GM !! I HATE THESE POPUP LIGHTS THEY SUCK !!

Im not letting those turds anywhere near my car man !! Im going to take it all apart tomorow and see what I can do about making those peices of **** quiet too My cat could design a better setup with **** he digs up from the back yard

You know, the other thing you could do is to disable the "auto on" and then you have control of the motors and they don't get used as much. That's what I did and knock on wood theyre still ok. Also, the TA's look mean at night just rolling with the fog light s on. This way also the lights don;t go on in the garage and shut off when you roll out. You have complete control of them. Takes about 6.21463 minutes to do and costs..... .0000001 cents.

I did that mod right away when I got the car , daytime running lamps are queer I just sautered two terminals together in that little black box behind the hvac controlls and it worked like a charm . There is a write up over on ls1.com if anyone hasnt done it yet . . . I hated the auto lights .

I actually think the damage was done when someone tried yanking the lights up and made them all sloppy

Did the free fix , worked like a charm . Hardest part was aligning up all the gaps afterwards . Yay for my Transam WooHoo !!

 

Sure.... If you were to look at the top of your dash, you should see that little round opening where the light sensor is. What you do is lift up on the panel on top of the dash, don't worry it'll com off with some firm pulling.
Reach inside and you'll see where there are two wires running to a "plug". Turn the plug and pull down. It has one of those twist locks, where it only comes off one way.
When you get it off, you will see what looks like a little flatheaded blue bulb. Pull it out. This is the sensor.
Then, if you smoke pull off the aluminum in the cigareete pack and burn off the paper. Or of course you can go get some aluminum foil from the kitchen.. You only need enough to shove into the plug where the sensor used to be.
Once it's in, make sure that the connections via the aluminim foil are together. If they are not, when you turn on the car in the daylight, the lights will automatically come on. If that happens, push the aluminum foil in farther.
Now you can either try to put the plug back in. Pain in the a$$ if you have big hands, or you can leave it as is. And your done. You now have complete control of your life and your lights!!

Isn't that for the orange corner lights that come on? The mod that I'm talking about prevents the headlights from popping up when your driving and you go through a shady spot, etc

 

My style car doesnt have the big circle in the dashboard , its got it somewhere else . You pull the hvac and locate a little black box and bust into it . Using the diagram ( Ill try to post that too ) you sauter two terminals together and walla , no auto headlamps . This works for my model year , Ill find the link
