Got Rear-Ended on Monday
Mike/Jazz know already, but I got rear ended by a 3/4 ton chevy on Monday.
Visible Damage:
Rear Bumper, Rear Center Piece (what's that thing called anyway?), Trunk, Spoiler, Pass Side Tail-light assembly, Pass Side 1/4 Panel.
My Damage:
Stiff Neck and Back.
ICBC should be repairing the car as it's still driving perfectly fine. I'll let you all know what happens.

I wanted to get it done at the dealership where I bought the car, but I'd have to wait till the 26th to get it in.
I'd prefer a place in Richmond if you guys can suggest any....
Rudi suggested a place in Vancouver that I'll use if no one else can recommend a place in Richmond.

FYI: ICBC is paying everything (and I don't have to pay the deductable).
Estimate is currently about $4750, and they expect it to go up about $1000 more.
New 1/4, New Bumper Cover, New under bumper, New Tail light assem, New Corner lamp, New Center (piece where it says Camaro), New Camaro Decal, New Chevy Emblem (I'm going to ask the shop to give those to me after).
Fixing Spoiler (barely damaged), Fixing Trunk (also barely damaged, but I think it's warped... so that's where part of the 1000 more might be from). Paint etc etc.
And they didn't try to make me sign anything while I was there either. They said they'd wait a week before we even talked about the injuries, but they took a statement of what my injuries were, and will contact my doctor (so I had to sign permission for them to get medical records).
I asked about accelerated loss, and was told the only way to claim that was to sell the vehicle and prove that there was loss in value.
I don't plan on selling the car, so that's out of the question.
It seems to have gone ok.

Sucks to hear man...glad you're ok.
Corvette Specialties is the best body shop in town...expensive as hell, but if you aint paying, you might as well get the best. Its in Slurrey though...

Although the last paint job i seen them do cost the guy $8,000
I have too agree with corvette specialty, the best paint shop in town.
I saw a 67 vette coupe get a frame off restoration there and I was blown away. 1st class place but yea, big bucks. I dought ICBC will pay for the premium work unless you already had it painted there but it's worth a try.
Corvette specialties has done alot of great work, I seen some just last night but I could give more horror stories about that place than any other although those stories seem to be ageing, I think they are getting better. and besides they are ICBC accredited and they have to fix it for life until your satisifed.
