Gas prices!

What the hell is going on? I thought prices were supposed to drop durring the summer? Maybe its still the old batch of gas they are selling otherwise the hell with everyone. The main reason everyone was preaching that gas prices are high is that Opec had a cap on how much production is to take place, while demand was high, the cap on the supply was there. 2 month ago I belive Opec promised to lift this CAP so that there is no limit on supply, which in turn was supposed to DROP gas prices real far down & look good at the pumps in April. Well its April, from what I understand the CAP has been lifted by Opec yet gas prices are going sky high??????????

I love it, they'll always find an excuse to jack prices up, like a rat farts durring the making & gas prices go up, yet if price of crude oil drops or cap is lifted on the limit of supply, the gas prices stay! I belive our gas prices went up a lot since Opec but the cap on, now that its off noone is dropping the prices.

Its pathetic if you ask me!!!

i never heard of opec substantially raising thier level of production, they're a cartel, they'll never produce what is demanded, its not economically wise for THEM to do so

as for summer, prices always rise in the summer due to the excess demand, its simple supply and demand, and usually the increased demand outweighs the increase in supply...

if u have any web pages that say about this opec cap being lifted post it, i wanna see (OPEC = bs, by the way)

Altyhough I would LOVE to have the car on the road, at these prices I think the TA will become more a weekend car for me.

Last summer, between the TA and the Durango, I was at almost $800 per month in gas.

Gas prices ALL ways go up in the summer time From May -sept but never this amount.

I have heard that OPEC is not going to lower the cost per barrel until after the US elections in Nov.
Approx guess on gas prices topping off for washington state is $3.50 a gallon for reg unled.

Yep, summer prices are always higher.

A few years ago I "survived" high summer prices at $1.80/Gallon... now it's April and premium is kick'n me at $2.25! At this point I'd actually be HAPPY with $2/gallon.

Oh well... at least I'm not in Canada anymore... I can't imagine paying those prices you guys are getting hit with. (for comparison, WA guys are paying about CN$0.70/Liter).

Wouldn't surprise me. When the ONLY power/use/validation for your country is oil production you play stupid games like that for kicks.

Whose next in the "my fascist muslin country hates democracy" game?

Good news is that Saudi Arabia owes "W' for more than a few reasons... they'll probably off-set OPEC cutbacks this summer with oil production. Sadly... the liberals will try to make a stink about it saying Iraq was about oil (the torture chambers, mass graves, and chemical gassings of their civilians didn't mean much) and how Bush's attempt to keep gas prices SANE during an onslaught of "hate-pricing" before the election is to get him re-elected (not to keep us poor kids with wheels... it's about politics right? )

CNN's already covered this a dozen times this week... Republicans deny there's a Saudi-arrangement, Democrazys claim the absolutely is one. Personally I damn well hope there is... this could get real ugly otherwise.

Silver lining:
Eventually the middle-east oil will dry up.

Outside of Israel who actually has an economy the rest of the area will cease to have any power or influence on world affairs. Guess who becomes the new OPEC? Canada and Argentina. Argentina is solely oil-based as well (so they may get the stupid ideas occasionally) but they're not sworn to kill infidels in the west. And Canada? Well damn, we actually HAVE an economy that would be detrimentally impacted by stupid-high oil prices so there’s a self-preservation issue involved.

I would always think "Oh wow I'm going to pay sooo much now that gas is sooo expensive, but it's not that much more. Just because I drive a 6 cylinder VW, don't mean it's fuel efficient.
14.4 gallon tank full will take me maybe 300 KMs all city if i'm ****ing lucky!
But when I go to the pump, I only notice like a 10 dollar AT THE MOST difference between "super cheap" prices, and "holy **** this gas is so expensive my head's going to ****ing explode" prices.
And what am I going to do with that 10 dollars, anyways?
Buy cheap liquor and get drunk?
High gas prices are keeping me sober!

So far we have only been paying $2.09 (92 oct) on all but 2 of our trucks. (thank god my truck takes reg & so does my husbands 67).

Try owning 6 running cars 4 of them taking 92 Oct & husband is driving all 4 to work at lease once a week.

Well if they cut back prices now, Then it would look good for Bush & 90% of the Opec counties hate Bush. They did the same thing when his father was in office.

Uhh, not much difference there driving 4 different vehicles a week to my ONE vehicle I drive to work a week. You're still only driving one vehicle at a time and you only have one a$$ to sit in them. So you're using the same amount of gas that I am.

Actually Brent it does. Have you priced insurance lately? With gas prices as they are and insurance through the roof this year we can only afford to insure two cars(of our five) and drive one.

I tweeked the hell out of Stephs tune and got it up to 19-20 Stop and go now but it is killing us a $70 a week! Not to mention lawn tools!

I can not afford to drive my car right now and we may have to park Stephs and start driving the Toyota. as it is we can not afford to insure three cars at a time and we need the Cab to hual stuff.

This just totally blows. Finally got a house and all the prices DOUBLE the first freaking year!!!

Since Dan & I both work at diffrant times then we are really driving 2 Cars a day. I drive 20 miles a day to & from work ( which sucks for milage) Dan drives over 80 Miles to & from work. most which is hiway type miles.
Plus we also drive 3 times a week right now 20 miles to & from my sons little league practice/ games. In the worse car for gas milage because none of the Camaros are going to be risked getting hit by a ball & putting a dent in to them. lol.

Ellis I feel your pain.

We currently have 6 cars/trucks on insurance but thank god we pay just over $200 amonth for all 6.

Dan just moded my Iroc out this last winter so I have to use 92 oct from now on instead of dropping it down to 89 or 87 when its not racing.

Its getting to the point with me its almost cheaper for me to stay home again then drive the truck back & forth to work daily for only $60 a week. But I am the type that cant just sit around the house & do nothing since I cant do house work or anything while Dan is trying to sleep. I am waiting & hoping I can get on at the new dealership that is opening up in july just 2 miles from where I work now. more money means more bills get paid.
