Flat battery and apparent strange electrics.

So I was going to try ad start the car today. i figured the battery might be dead as I did not disconnect it. It was a BRAND new battery last August. Once during the winter after about a month in storage I fired the car up without probelm.

Today the battery is stone cold dead. Not even a glimmer of light on the courtesy. HMMMMM

I but the trickle charger on and the two front motor on the pop up lights start clicking. The lights to not move up but the motor click. i unplug both of them and find that there is a "clicking" in the firewall. I figure its behind the radio. Also the red alarm light is blinking. When I open the door it blinks quicker.

I doconnected the power from the battery and am now charging the battery n its own.

Any advice, thoughts or recommendations?

You have to wait for Independance Day to come, thats when the mothership arrives. When this happens, all the gadgets and lights will start coming on just like in the movie.

Gosh, I mean it's so obvious.

I guess my question should be more specific.

Why are there strange clicks and and buzzes when the battery is put on charge?

it's like a toy that is losing power from a dying/low battery. It has enough power to try to do soemthing but not enough to get it going. The clicks and buzzes is from a low battery condition and from the facting that it is finally getting enough power to send to different areas but not enough to actually power anything..... I think

I have a cunning plan. Let us charge the battery.

Yes, just charge the battery while disconnected. The 'dirty' pulses from your charger are freaking out the computerized devices in your car and there is no charge iin the battery (yet) to smooth out those pulses. Everybody knows this of course...

If you hear lots of clicking, it's relays turning on and off, they have enough power to click on, but when they do, whatever it is that they activate draws too much power and the relay shuts off again, and back etc.

Ahhhhh

Well I just had not experienced it before. I was worried that the reason the battery was dead was because some short was draining it.

I charged the battery and no more clicks. Just a loud HP grumble out the back - a good thing.

Now I need to change the passenger side head gasket.
