Firehawk tires

Any tire experts out there? I had a nail head sticking out the bottem of my rear firehawk tire. I went to the local tire shop and they pulled out the nail and inserted two plugs to seal it. These tires only have 5,000 kilos on them and I'm wondering if this tire can blow during a burn-out or hard cornering? The shop said it should be okay but that didn't reassure me. Should I replace this tire? I drive hard sometimes and race at the track occasionally. I don't want to crash and burn over a $250.00 tire.

The overall integrity of the tire is compromised so it obviously isn't as strong as an unpunctured tire. It should still be alright for burnouts and hard launches though.

The best way to repair a tire is with a patch and a plug. They usually have a patch attached to the plug that pulls through and the patch seals the inside while the plug is in the hole. Hopefully yours was fixed like this already.
