Fiberglass Question
Well looks like I can kiss my dream of owning a corvette goodbye. My gf's dad, (ICBC Claim center manager), told me with new parts and labour it could cost up to $2000 to fix everything. I sure hope he's wrong.
Anywayz, enough about that, my car looks fine pretty much from up top, but when you take a look near the bottom, there's about a 4-5 inch peice of fiberglass chipped off from the fender behind the front wheel. Also, the metal part side skirt under the door, about the 1/3 of it was crushed in.
Now my question is, since i have the peice of the fiberglass that broke off, is it at all possible to somehow mold the peice back on and just paint over instead of replacing the whole fender because it goes all the way up the side mirror and to the head lights, but i only have a tiny peice at the bottom broken off.
Any help, advice, auto-body deals, would be greatly apperciated.

Actually... I may be able to get you a deal at a body-shop in Burnaby. I'm getting my rice-rocket fixed there at a pretty decent price.
There was a 3-4 square inch chunk missing from the front bumper & the rear bumper had to be cut in half & the bottom part remoulded onto the car. Including all labour & paint it's costing me $700.
Give me a call on my cell if you'd like I could take you down there & see if I can get you a better deal.
Anyhow, my name is Hisham, 604-644-2164
If you leave me a message I'll return your call pretty quick.

Alrite, sweet thx man. I'm going into ICBC today to get a quote from them and see how much it would cost me and how much my rates would go up. That sounds like a pretty sweet deal you got there, if they can do the same for me it would help me a lot. I'll most likely be giving you a call sometime later today. Thanks again.
Jack, I woudn't go through ICBC, your rates will go up over quite a few years and it's not worth it. Either pay the $2000 or fix it privately.
Fixing your current damage may be equal more or less to replacing the fender since there would be alot of labour to do the fiberglass repair. I'm not a body man but just assuming here. The paint cost and labour to paint it will be the same either way.
You can go see my buddy Mike at Spotlite collision, and get a quote to fix it privately. Tell him your my buddy and he'll swing you a good deal.

Ok guys, I don't know how much worse this week can get, thursday on my way to the body shop, my engine started studdering and struggling. I do not have the money to fix both (the body and whatever engine problem) right now so it looks like I'm going to go with the quick fix and just get them to fix the fender first. Thanks for everyone's help.
