exhaust and emissions

Ok so its that time again... well accually im being forced to fix this ****, my 3 months are up and i have lots of emission work to do before i start the hardcore modding for next season.

For my car the Standard is ;

-Idle HC Std = 342.00
-Idle CO Std = 3.90

My last test results were ;

-Idle HC = 1034.00
-Idle CO = 0.86

*Since I failed at the first test they did not run my on the other tests, so im not sure about there standards *

My car has zero emissions equipment, but ill be getting some Universial Cats and fab them so i can bolt them in and out...

(how much do they help? and what do they help the most on?)

What other things can i do to help this car pass... i should be able to pass with this cam.

thx

What is the duration of your cam at .050 lift and fully advanced?I think one of the biggest sbc cams that will pass is the xe268.

If you have a really efficient ignition system and know your carb well it may pass...the duration looks high though.

Good luck

PS- hurry up and sell your **** or rob a bank or something

224/234 isn't really that much but when you have a carb and not FI then it poses a problem.

well we have a family friend that that can dyno tune it for emissions, so after i get my cats ill call him up and see what he can do....

EDIT: whats are the best cats to get, i don't care about high flow or anything like that, as they will bolt in and out, for emissions only...
