Thumbs up Dyno Results.....

spent some time dynotuning the Z today.

Started off with a baseline pull of 331 rwhp with a 14.5 AF

Ended with a 365 rwhp 330 tq with a 12.3-5 AF.

The car was falling on its face at 6000 rpm. The torque curve was flat all the way through the pull and the HP was still climbing but I could not get past 6000 rpm. The car felt like it hit a wall!!! I was actually feeling it fall on its face the last few times I had it at the track. Even at the track it was only falling on its face in high gear running through the traps or just before.

I have changed the plugs recently but did not change the wires.

I believe and Sean believes there is more in the car if we can just get past the high RPM stumble. I can see at least 380 RWHP if I can get it up to 6500+ RPM.

We did not even play with timing just got the AF set right.

Lightbulb

Short list of mods:

Heads by Dave Endrigo, XE 230/236, Meziere electric H2O pump, jet hot LT's, 1.6 RR's, 2800 stall Vig, Strange 3.73 gears, etc, etc.

Ellis The Opti was new when I built the motor *shrug* I think I will start the easy way, first checking wires to include coil wire and coil. Coil is original. Search and hunt I guess.

you need atleast my cam to hit 6500 any lower & you hit the wall at 6k, that is because your cam is acctually the size of a hotcam durring ramp up/ramp down stages, look at the .006 lift & compare it to a hotcam, they are almost identical, except hotcam i belive is bigger on the exhaust at .006 lift.
