Drove a C5.......

I've never even had a opportunity to ride in one let alone drive.
It was a friend of dads, he was visiting him when I happened to be over at my folks place. The car was a 2000 blue/tan auto vert.
I had my Camaro there, he parked right next to me.
I jokingly mentioned that I would love a chance to drive a C5.
He tossed me the keys and said "Lets go then!"

Off we went, for a jaunt down the freeway and some backroads for around 15 minutes.
I was not impressed. The car didn't feel any quicker than my Zed, and not as much fun to drive due to the auto.
He really liked his car though, so I didn't say anything at the time, I remained polite and thanked him for the drive.

When we got back he started ripping at my car.
Saying how slow it was compared to a Vette and how it must have been really cool to drive a truely fast car.
He claimed his (completly stock) Vette runs a 4.1 0-60 time.
He was also really hypeing up the revolutionary "traction control" that his car has - I pointed out that my Camaro has it too.........
Never once did he say something nice about my car.

I didn't argue - I simply challanged him to race.
He turned it down, on the basis that wouldn't have been worth his time.

All the same - got my first drive in C5.
Nice cars they are, the interior is killer.

Fwiw Ive driven a few vettes and I quite like them. I like the seating position and the interior alot. I would like to find a beat up targa top in need of a new engine and some tlc to play mad doctor with one day. . . . let my TA collect dust and zaino for a few years under a car cover.

that vette will get owned by a dozen cars on here, that jack *** needs to learn a lesson. i would not have let him talk like that too me, even if it was a friend of my dads.

You should have taken him for a spin in your car. That might have woken his sorry a$$ up. I would have found it hard not to laugh in his face.
