im actually gonna go with dual cutouts as opposed to true duals for this year ... (a lot cheaper, same effect )

me and steve are gonna make OR pipes for the FLPs with 2 3" cutouts built in .. and ready to bolt in any FLP setup .. ceramic coated and all

hell if anyone else with FLPs wants, put ur order in

Talking

IMO ask other Vette owners that have already done this. I've heard that the C4 exhaust note is actually quite different according to model: L98's have a consistent but not overbearing rumble, ZR1's are extremely refined yet aggressive throughout the powerband, and LT1/4's can barely be heard until 3rd gear. My L83 C4 was surprisingly loud.

Search the Vette forum for sound clips and owner suggestions - asking F-Body cutout owners isn't really gonna help your Vette exploits .

Personally I'm not sure that the dual cutouts WILL get the affect you are looking for. It might be a modest improvement on the sound but it will be WAY too loud to be able to run around town.

Given that, why bother, just keep a single cutout.

I think to get a great sound that is also viable on the street, you will need to run through 2 or even four mufflers.

I would try and get a bullet style muffler that could replace the cats - in fact leave the cats installed for that matter - then run to the back and install a couple more bullet mufflers somewhere else.

just my thoughts.

Shaun, I have dual exhaust already, I am leaving the precats and the cat in still just running cutouts right before the mufflers

Sorry Todd, I had hijacked your thread.

My comments were directed at Payam. Although I concede I had forgotten you had a vette.

shaun, the dual cutouts will be just as good as running open headers ... in closed form, they will give me a lot of backpressure right off the collectors and improve my driveability.. flip da swtich and hello dual open headers that should be PLENTY of exh flow with 2 x 3" dumps for the track ... and scaring small municipalities (sp?)

i might even slap in a stock muffler :sleeeeeeper:

the way i see it, its a very cheap replacement for true dual performance ... it was actually steve's idea .. we will make them to fit the OR pipe section of the FLPs, ceramic coated and everything swap them in and out as u wish ... i might even try to sell a few ... im sure the idea of instant open dual exh would sound appealing for FLP owners

matt, the DMH cutout never leaked.

How about a little dyno info?

On my system it was only good for 4RWHP. This on an almost 400RWHP car!

Not worth the money but if you HAVE to have every last drop of HP i guess you should.

If it was not already on the car i would not install it.....
