Question Can anyone recomend

a good(ie cheap) parts store in the vancouver(BC) area for LT1 parts as i need a water pump and gm wants $326 , and i'd like to get it for the weekend so shipping from the states is not really an option.

Thanks

Graham

I think electric meziere pumps are cheaper .. ud have to install the electric motor on your own housing, but it'll stop the leak

Re: Can anyone recomend

thanks for the surgestion but i've already gone that route with a CSR/CSI from mopac ($225+tax) and to be hounest its been a bit of a pain i've already had to grind out the pump housing to get the pump to fit (it has 4 small lumps on the side) and install the wiring for it and warning lights (for pump failer) and now its all in the pump blades bind on the back of the housing so ive got to remove to grind some more!

so the mechanical pump option is more of a fall back position if i get fed up with this damn CSR one!

Re: Can anyone recomend

I have an extra water pump I'd sell.

Lets say $150.

Actually, I ALSO have a POLISHED water pump housing with an electric pump that I'll sell as well. It has AN fittings installed but I have some fitting that I'll included in the price.

Lets say $300. Although installed once, this is basically new as it has not been run on the road and is currently OFF the car.

Dude grind the pump and you can throw it in the trash.

No need for warning lights, thats what "check guages" light is for and your temp guage, I never take my eyes off any of my instruments while I drive and you shouldn't either, no different then your thermostat failing, gotta watch that $hit.

Yep london but not for 6 years now damn time fly's

i will keep the pump offer in mind i'm going to have another go at the CSR pump there's a thread here

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387306

where CSR said that you can grind the blades and not void the warranty, i dont think i'll grind them but i might just take a fine file to the top outside of the blades as the binding seems very slight, i'll let you know how it goes.

bunker - your right about the standard warning lights etc but I was thinking you cant have to many warning lights

Re: Can anyone recomend

well i pulled the csr pump out at the weekend, then took a sharpe pen and coloured the top of the blades pushed is back in the housing spun it up and then removed it, then just filed down the blades where the ink had been removed, all in all it was less the 1/2mm and the cooling system is working great now with no leaks
