best stall size/recomendations

HI guys,
I'm about to swap an ls1 99 a4 into a 97rs. The rs is dialed for cornering, sfc, lca, panhard, upper/lower a arms, dropped. It's a t5 now with 4:10s. I though I'd like the lower weight better than the extra 100+ hp but I was wrong.
An m6 is out as I think it will be enough of a nightmare getting what I have in there, and it looks like swapping the m6 for a4 will cost me like a grand more, i'd rather put that towards heads. Don't really have the extra $ anyway. It's got an ls6 intake and hotcam now.
I'm a little worried as I think I might have a hard time learning to drive an automatic. I've been watching myself though and I shift pretty consistantly, enough to where I could program it in with ls1edit with different points set by throttle position. No downshift will bug me.
What stall would you recomend? Gas is not an issue, control and rally style zappp! are the goals.
Thanks.
